We are getting married on June 21, 2014, Summer Solstice.  I decided to have sunflowers for my flowers, but not go overboard with it….and a touch of vintage/rustic.

I don’t know anymore! The only thing I cared about in the beginning was that my colors were going to be Yellow and Grey. Then I decided that I wanted to use books as the centerpieces w/ simple flowers…so I thought I would incorporate more book-ish things (vintage library card style invitation and the like).

BUT

I saw THIS the other day, and it turned my world upside down. http://greenweddingshoes.com/the-princess-bride-inspired-wedding/

I’m in love. In awe. I created a secret Pinterest board and invited my sister, and we spent the next hour Googling and pinning things that would fit. Obsessed.

My Fiance really like my old ideas and he really likes the PB wedding, too…we’re supposed to get back with our venue/caterer soon to give them our new date before their rates go up, so I need to deciiiiiiiiide…..

We’re having a masquerade ball. I was trying to come up with a classy way to do Halloween and it came to me in a dream. I was taking a nap and woke up out of a dead sleep, ran downstairs with mascara smeared all over my face and my hair all a wreck and looked at my mom and half-yelled, half-slurred, “MASQUERADE BALL!”

Koi fish. Our venue has gorgeous koi ponds. I’m half japanese. So I used that as my cue. But I love bright colors, so I picked pink and orange.

Our “theme” is rose gold. It’s basically just a colour scheme of rosy pinks, golds, ivory, champagne and rose gold shades. I picked it because my engagement ring is in rose gold and I just love it!

I’m drooling over ballet themed weddings, since I used to be a dancer. But, I don’t think FH would love it. It’ll probably still be pretty, soft pink, and romantic. Just… less so.

My wedding theme is steam punk with a comic book accent!

When we first started looking at weddings we really couldn’t find anything that was really “us.” I stumbled into steampunk and fell in love! We decided then to stop trying to be traditional and just do what makes us happy! I’m so excited to put this whole thing together now!

Our theme is ‘Old Hollywood”. It just came naturally as the dress I had been looking at right before we got engaged fell into the theme and my Fiance is in the film industry.

Beach wedding.  Colors are turquoise and lime.  Accenting with orange sugar starfish.

Beach theme because we’re getting married on the beach.  Even though the wedding is in November, temps are usually in the upper 70s and 80s that time of year here in Florida so we wanted bright, tropical colors.  FH’s favorite color is green (so is mine) so we decided to start off with a bright, tropical green.  I can’t stand pink so we settled on turquoise for the secondary color.  Starfish come in because our wedding website has starfish and we coordinated it with starfish save the dates and invitations.

The name of the theme has grown throughout the planning.  I call it vintage rustic shabby chic and homespun.  I love the perfectly imperfect nature of shabby chic and vintage.  I like the old vintagey homespun look of embroidery etc.  Our table numbers are hand embroidered hoops I did, my own brooch bouquet, made a vintage looking cake topper, girls will carry coffee filter roses, milk glass, a little burlap, very laid back feel.  I cant wait to see it all come together.

Mine is “Mirror, mirror on the wall….who has the greatest romance of them all”. I came up with it because I love mirrors and I love decorating with them even more.

Mine is modeled after my grandparents antique wagon they have in one of their barns. I used to climb all over it and make up stories about what everything was and that’s how I spent majority of my childhood summers. Some of my best memories 🙂 (Antique wagon is an old broken down wagon with antiques from 1900-1970ish items such as newspapers, china, magazines, marbles, etc. all over it)
