bluejaybride :  I’m going a Glam Fairytale Gamer Theme for my wedding! I want lots of romance so I’ve picked romantic flowers such as white roses and babies breath and will be including a ton of really fun geeky gamer elements as well. My fiance and I bonded over video games and we are huge nerds so I knew I needed to include that in the wedding! We’ll be having aspects from a number of our favorite games (any Bioshock Infinite fans?) and part of our centerpieces is actually Dungeons & Dragons related.

Yup. We’re the coolest kids on the block!cool

citizenerased14 :  OMG my centerpieces are DnD themed! I had custom made D20’s that are flat like those wooden rounds people use!!!

YAY GAMER BRIDES!

gunnabamissus :  is there any way you’d be able to post a picture of your centerpieces?? Those sound incredible (FH and I are having a joint couple’s bach in the form of an all-day D&D campaign) and pretty tasteful, which is hard to do with nerdy stuff I’ve found

minniesmom :  I unfortuantely do not have a picture of all my centerpieces put together yet, I’m still in the process of organizing everything!

However, I do have a picture of the flat D20’s I had custom made. I hope they look as classy as I think they do! I will be placing birdcages filled with flowers on top of them and small mercury gold votives to make it a little more wedding chic. I figured it was a perfect way to add a geeky element without being to obvious or tacky!

We don’t really have a theme in mind. I think our theme is just “getting married” If we had to have a theme maybe it would be tasteful medieval fantasy inspired, but I don’t really know how we would do that without screaming “renaissance faire”

  • Wedding: October 2019 - Chateau Lake Louise

Our theme is adventure. We were both off work for a few months right after we met, so we did a fair amount of traveling and exploring. When he asked me to marry him he said “Will you keep having adventures with me for the rest of our lives?”

We’re having a Destination Wedding in the Canadian Rockies and getting married at the Chateau Lake Louise which is basically a fairy tale location for me. We are spending a week hiking, exploring, scrambling, and hot spring-ing.

I had invitations that looked like a passport and had a compass rose on it. I’m also having leather luggage tags made for each guest with their initals and a compass rose embossed on it.

So… Fairy Tale Adventure? 😀

Our theme is unusual for the location I think! Being in south Florida a lot of people go with a beach theme, but we’re just going for a classic feel. Our venue is a historic estate with lots of character on its own, so we’re not doing a whole bunch to take away from that. We matched our wedding to the venue, so we don’t really have a theme other than our colors of pink and white. I’m hoping it all comes together in the end!

My family referred to our wedding as “viking luxe” LOL. It was a winter wedding with kind of a rustic, moonlit snowscape theme at a ski lodge. We had a wood arch with greenery and elk antlers and incorporated the antlers in our table decor. The lodge itself was decorated as an old hunting lodge with animals and old farm stuff. I only have pics of our tables right now.

teamroro :  I LOVE your invitations!! Also, we ended our wedding celebrations at hot springs with a few close family and friends and it was really the perfect wind down.

misty2007 :  Love this!  We very nearly went with a lodge-style theme as well but changed gears a bit.  It looks like you did a beautiful job!

We’re having 2 weddings. For our civil wedding (with a judge) in CA, it’s tropical themed and casual. For our church wedding in Europe (where my SO’s from), it’s classic, traditional and formal.
