I’m pretty empathetic to those going through a really tough time (death or illness in the family, etc), but switch to tough love when it’s one of those bees who is in clear denial about her contribution to a shitty situation (or keeps making excuses for a crappy SO).  And I’m happy to lend some perspective to the bees who have ridiculously high standards for everyone else.  Maybe it’s mean but I’m definitely one of those “no one cares as much as you do about your wedding, stop expecting so much” bees.

In honesty, I think I tend to be a bit long-winded and not quite short and sweet like the other bees. I try to be understanding, open-minded and empathetic. I tend to be meaner to certain posters who make multiple posts regarding the same topic because they ignore the bees advice/opinion and ask the same questions again hoping for a different outcome. That and posters who blame everyone for everything, but themselves.

I’m not quite sure though, maybe some other bees can point it out for me.

Cheekie0077 :  OOHhh!! lol, I feel dumb now.  Does not offend. I loathe him.

OP: I love this board!  I always have a hard time paying attention/remembering who says what, but this is really helping me actually take the time to LOOK at who says what.

somathemagical :  I try to respond with “both sides” in mind in any situation. If someone is having a disagreement with a friend or family member, I try and reason it from both sides. If I feel a Bee is way out of line, I will tell them so. I never discredit someone’s feelings. Even if they are out of line or overreacting, their feelings are still valid and it’s important to help them work through them. So I try not to be dismissive in my responses when someone is truly upset. (Alas, there are always threads where you steady pop off from the minute you start reading and I am guilty of snarking quite a bit.)

Ultimately, I always try to give the advice I’d want to receive if I was in the same position of the poster.
