My DJ bailed the week of our wedding. I was texting, emailing, calling and getting no response. I ended up finding a review for him from a couple whose wedding was a week before ours, they said he had to cancel last minute and a different DJ was the replacement. I called that DJ who gave me my DJ’s assistant’s number. I finally got through to her and she said she was working on finding us a replacement but hadn’t bothered to contact me and let me know what was happening.

We met with the guy who ended up DJing our wedding two days before. He did a great job but the stress was not fun! And we never heard from our original DJ.

My Videographer didn’t show up. He had our date down as Sunday. I was so stressed/busy the morning of I didn’t realize it until after the ceremony. It still hurts to see other people’s people wedding videos. But honestly the day of, I shrugged my shoulders, called and left an angry message and then put it out of my mind. Nothing I could do to change it so no use dwelling. They ended up firing the guy which I actually felt bad about and I didn’t ask them to do, but I’m glad no other bride had to go through that.

missviolet92 :  My religious officiant was over two hours late. When he finally showed up, and began the ceremony, he called me “Christina” (which is not my name, and sounds nothing like my name).

The lateness bothered me, but I tried to shrug it off.

Calling me by the wrong name? THAT made me really angry.

I ordered a very large altar piece consisting of ONLY red apples and white carnations.

What was on the altar and in all my Church photos was a massive fruit salad of every kind of fruit imaginable, sprinkled liberally with WHITE ASTERS, probably the only flower that grows that I actively dislike.

Epic Fail.

missviolet92 :  I ordered 16 sandwiches to be delivered for the bridal party for before the wedding. The caterer showed up with half the order. Then said she would make the other half but we needed someone to pick them up.

I made my dad go and he was not happy about it. She apologized and said she would give me 4 free mini pies. Then the caterer sent me a bill for the other 8 sandwiches she evidently didn’t charge me for. Ugh. Why give me free pies then?

One of our shuttles from the hotel to the venue went to the wrong hotel. We ended up having to delay the ceremony by 45 minutes (and that time got cut out of the reception) because some jerk couldn’t be bothered to read an address.

I got married last Saturday. We were supposed to have chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, and salad for  150 guests. Also, iced tea abd 4 servers.  We had no tea, no servers, and the caterer couldn’t get chicken fried steak so we ended up with BBQ chicken. We only had 119 guests, plus 6 vendor meals. But we ran out of chicken for 1/3 of the guests!! WTF?!? My amazing coordinator ran out and got tea and my groom’s aunt got $250 worth of brisket to feed or hungry guests. All without me knowing.

Ugh, just got back from our honeymoon and now I get to bitch out the caterer. Oh they were also supposed to cut and serve the cake, but that didn’t happen either.

The van I’d hired to transport guests staying at the hotel where we had rooms blocked left the hotel late. Guests arrived fairly close to the start of the wedding time, but they were supposed to get there earlier so they could have champagne and mingle. They were basically rushed to their seats when they arrived.

Also, the baker got my cake all wrong. The woman I originally hired (and left the deposit with) sold the business and didn’t tell me. I reached out when it got closer to the wedding and the new owner responded. The cake was terrible. It was dry, and they got the flavor on an entire tier incorrect. They were also supposed to decorate the cake with icing shaped like ivy and it looked like garbage. By the time I went to leave a review it said the business was closed. No surprise there.

We had a lot of trouble with the music and sound during the ceremony. The DJ must have been having trouble because their was a LOT of feedback throughout the ceremony, he used the wrong version of the song my Darling Husband was meant to walk down the aisle to with his mom and groomsmen, and also randomly started another processional song halfway through… I was none the wiser to most of this as I was the last in, but when I watched a video my friend had taken I was shocked! Luckily our videographer was able to cut out most of the feedback during the ceremony, but she ended up just placing other music over the processional music because it was such a mess.

My florist also got a lot wrong. We were meant to have magnolias but just had extra roses instead (she forgot to order the magnolias). She had given me two options for my bridesmaid’s bouqet’s and she delivered the opposite option of what I actually chose. It was hard to be upset with her though, because everything did look SO amazing!
