I asked my girls 15 months out from the wedding individually with a “I can’t say I Do without you too, Will you be my Bridesmaid?” card with a heartfelt letter inside. It went over very well!

We asked my SILs (ages 11 and 13) 11 months out by asking their parents first since it was kind of a family decision since DH’s step mom would be the one driving them around and buying their dresses.

I asked my girls about a year out. I never thought I would give them anything – always thought that was cheesy – but once I got engaged I totally got into it! I gave them little bags that said “Will you be my bridesmaid?” with Essie’s “Borrowed and Blue” nailpolish and cute initial keychains.

I would ask between 6 months and a year out. There are so many stories on the Bee of brides asking their wedding party too soon and then having weird issues to sort out because their friendships have changed.

I asked my 2 best friends 6 months out (was only engaged 10 and planning for 8) and I just asked them one night when we were out. I actually forgot to ask my 3 sisters because I assumed they knew lol. You don’t need to make a big hurrah about it, but I should have asked them properly at least 😛

I have an 8 month engagement so I went to work and asked right away. I made them cookies and spent an afternoon hanging out with them and then gave them the cookies. I also gave my mom one for fun 🙂
