I don’t think there is a hard and fast rule, but I personally felt that when we reached our first anniversary we were no longer newlyweds.

I think for the first year of marriage you’re considered a “newlywed”.  At least that’s what I’M going by!  Tongue out

I’m going for 2 years for me…mostly because my hubs won’t be living with me until we’ve been married for almost a year.  And how can you feel like a “newly wed” when your hubs doesn’t live with you.  lol

I think the “rule” is that you’re considered “newlyweds” up through your first anniversary. ๐Ÿ™‚

We decided we were no longer newlyweds once Cecilia was born :p  Our anniversary was this week, however.

@[email protected]:  Aww, thanks!  We had a great evening rehashing the past year and drinking the bottle of wine from our wine and box ceremony ๐Ÿ™‚  It was a really, really, really delicious wine!

I still kind of feel like a newlywed, but I personally hold the cutoff at 1 year or when your first child is born (if you dont already have children), whichever comes first.

@JoesWifey:  I agree.

However, the Newlywed Game allowed contestants to have been married up to two years.  Even as a kid, I thought two years was stretching the definition of newlywed.
