I think we might already have passed our honeymoon phase. Moving in together caused some adjustment hiccups.  We’re getting married in a couple weeks and I don’t think you can “go back” to that honeymoon feeling. But I’m ok with it. We have a deep solid love now. 🙂

I met a lady recently who asked how long I’ve been married and I said 2 years. She said “oh you’re newlyweds”

But she’s been married 67 years (!!!) so everyone probably seems like newlyweds to her.

I think you are a newlywed until your first wedding anniversary.

PositiveThinking:  1 year, and I dont agree that being a “newlywed” is a mindset. Now, the “honeymoon phase” can be a mindset and I know people married for 35 years who are still in their “honeymoon phase”.

PositiveThinking:  “quietly passionate and romantic marriage” I really really love that!! I definitely feel this way! That being said, we’ve been married for almost 2 years, together for almost 11 years, living together for 10 years. We got pregnant right after we were married and have felt like we’ve been in a wonderland ever since. I wouldn’t classify us as newlyweds but there are times we’re so deeply engulfed in each other that I would say we go adrift in honeymoon phases. I love that you’re celebrating all you and your husband have overcome! So sweet! Congratulations!

PositiveThinking:  I think it just depends on the couple. DH and I got married 4 1/2 years into our relationship and had been living together for 3 1/2 so a lot of the newness had long since been over. I think we are somewhat still in they “newlywed” mindset 6 months after the wedding, but it’s like a modified newlywedd-ness (??). We’ve already figured out how to live together and all of that stuff, but are still riding the “just got married” wave. Does that even make sense?

Married life is really fab…I’m totally loving it.

PositiveThinking:  I think a couple is no longer newlyweds when one’s husband takes a big dump and forgets to flush. AKA, Thursday last week.

ain’t nothin new and fresh about that!

PositiveThinking:  My daughter is graduating and moving out next year. My husband and I will be living alone for the first time. I am totally going to fee like a newly wed
