I’ve heard invites should go out about three months before the wedding, which puts us all in the August boat. I am asking that the rsvps be returned almost a month before the wedding though (we have a very strict limit of people who can fit comfortably into the ball room :/), so should I send them out a month early to allow for more time to make the decision? When are you lovely ladies planning on sending out your invites?

I’m planning on sending ours out three months before the wedding and asking for RSVPs a month before the wedding.
We were invited to a wedding were RSVPs were due 2 months before the wedding and I thought it was way too early

- Wedding: March 2012 - Pelican Grand Beach Resort
For none-DW weddings, invitations go out 6-8 weeks in advance with a RSVP date 3-4 weeks out.
Edit to add: If you send them out too early, that doesn’t give people more time to make a decision; it gives them more time to FORGET about the invitation because they have SO much time to make a decision.

@MrsHank: Awesome! Good to know that I am not the only one asking for rsvps a month before the wedding. My mom seemed to think that was unbelievably early.
@mrsSonthebeach: That’s a good point. I tend to forget that people put rsvps off because I always get so excited to get them in the mail that I usually respond that day!

I am sending them out at the end of August and asking them back by mid October…so I’ll be in that 8 week range.
