I got married in September.  My dress came in July, and we did alterations in the end of July – August.  I picked up the dress the week of my wedding.  I wanted to wait until the last possible minute so it would fit like a glove.

I would like to start in June. My dress hasnt come in yet anyway. It should not take a seamstress 4 months to alter a dress.

It depends what you want done, mine was just being taken in, and I started about a month before the wedding, and was done about 2 weeks out.

My dress isn’t even coming in until a month before by wedding! I’m crossing my fingers that I won’t need to do much to it.

My dress is scheduled to arrive in June, but they won’t let me come in for alterations more than 2 months in advance of my wedding, so I will probably start alterations in late July.

I bought my dress used and it’s really close to fitting already, I just need to have the chest and hips taken in a bit and cups sewn in. The only dates I can do alterations are May 30th or August 2nd (I’m out-of-state and those are the only times I’ll be with my dress!). I’m still debating whether I should do both or just start in August…

Oh, I was thinking you could just take your dress in and get it altered like 2 weeks before your wedding? Lol… guess I’ll have to get it done in August then. I don’t fit it very well at the moment and I have to get a bit slimmer before any alterations can be done.

My dress is at least 2 sizes too big. More like 3 sizes in the bust. They told me to bring it back 2 months before the wedding date. I plan on going around 3 months, just in case alterations run into any snags. Honestly, I’m worried there will be problems altering THAT much with all the beading on it.

End of July, early August for me. My dress came in back in March and I already need to get it taken in. I discusses the other alterations I wanted done so it should just be a matter of getting everything to fit perfect.

I was told not to even think about alterations until August for my end of September wedding. I’ll likely get mine done end of August, it’ll only take a week or two.

When I picked up the bridesmaid dresses this weekend I found out my dress ship date is May 10th – I’m thinking to start fittings in mid-July very early August – I want to wait to as close to the wedding as possible!

For my dress, first appointment will be made one month prior to the wedding (around 14 August), second appointment will between then and the wedding, and third and final fitting will be the week of the wedding.
