I plan on toning up but not really losing weight. My dress is already at the tailors to have it shorting. But I would guess 2-3 months before the wedding since you have weight to lose. Good luck.

I took my dress by the local alterations shop and she instructed me to bring it in no later then August but no sooner than mid-July.

I probably won’t be taking mine in until sometime this summer…still trying to lose some lbs before then!

I am getting married at the beginning of september. They told me we will do a fitting in july and then a couple weeks before the wedding. So I would say yours should be some time in June then again right before the wedding. 🙂

I am thinking July for my first fitting. Wedding is 10/20. It needs shortening and quite a bit taken in. And planning to lose about 10 lbs.

All of the good alterations in my area say 3 months before the wedding or it will not get done in time… Thankfully mine will be done within a week 2 months before my wedding. I will fly in on a friday and will be flying out the next weekend with my dress so I am very limited on when my alterations can be done.

I was lucky and my dress fits perfect other than that the bustle needs to be re-done because the quality of the work done wasn’t very good.  The dry cleaner gave me a hard time about it being too soon to clean it when I took it in this week…but I’m not really concerned and I want to get it done with so it’s one less thing to worry about.  I will probably take it in to get alterations to the bustle done this next week when I pick up the bridesmaid dress that I have there.  I just want to get it all done and not stress about it.

Good to know… I’m early Sept and was thinking about alterations in May, but looks like it might be later than that?  I’ll call and find out.  If it’s more like June more time to tone up?  Or more time to have major fails like this morning’s breakfast of Hostess Donettes… 😉
