I work for a company that contracts me out to a local public school district to provide a specialized service. On Friday 1/25 during a meeting I found out that the school district has decided that they do not need my service anymore and will be terminating the contract with my company thus putting me out of a job. (The school district told me this, not my company.)
I e-mailed my supervisor about the situation as soon as I found out which was about 10:30 in the morning on Friday. I haven’t heard from my supervisor yet about anything. Nor have I heard anything from anyone in my company. One other person who is contracted out from this company to the school district didn’t show up today (she only comes on Mondays and was present at the meeting where I found out that I didn’t have a job anymore after the contract is terminated.)
My super is very prompt in answering e-mails and has never not replied to my e-mail more than 2-3 hours after I send her one. I feel like my super is avoiding me by not answering – am I overreacting?
When would it be appropriate to e-mail her again and ask if she got my previous e-mail?
