We had to get a certified copy from the county clerk.

Mine was out of state so I had to wait until I got home then mail in a request and wait for them to get it and mail it back to me.  I sent it out I believe the week after we got married and I received it back within a week.

@Tanya5484:  When we applied for the license (day before wedding), they asked if we wanted to be mailed any certified copies after the wedding. We ordered two….so however long it took for the priest to mail it back to them, and for them to make copies and send to us. We didn’t get back from our Honeymoon until about 10 days after the wedding, and I think it was in the mailbox when we got back. So within 10 days!

We didn’t get a copy the day we got married.  The signed one came a week after the wedding.

You will need a certified copy.  I got mine about 3 weeks after the wedding.
