I have this co-worker who is generally Mr Outspoken. Normally I can brush off his comments. He tends to always have to one up you in everything you say..you know that kind of guy.
Well for the past year he finds a girl, then falls head over heels then 2 weeks later is heartbroken when it doesn’t work out. (I honestly think he just comes on too strong and scares all these girls away). Well he has one girl that is finally the OFFICIAL Girlfriend now and its all that he talk about. So he’s pretty serious about her. I think its his first ‘real’ girlfriend.
I’m definately not a talk about my wedding at work person all the time, but if someone asks about it, I’ll talk. So I jokingly mentioned that he’s gonna beat me down the isle now that he’s found this girl. He laughed and said ‘oh don’t say that, I’m not looking to rush this.’ Fast forward a week and some other co-workers are saying that he’s going around tell them that I said he would beat me down the isle and then add…’Well of course I will, can you see how long its taken her!’
I’m pretty annoyed/offended by this and haven’t been able to just brush if off. I was actually planning on inviting him to the wedding. But now I’m seriously re-considering just b/c I can imagine him making unnecessary comments and trying to make our day all about him.
Anyone else have lame co-workers that just don’t have a filter?
