When was it like BAM we are actually getting married!!
For me, I went dress shopping alone, and didnt have a reailty check with my mom crying (or me crying) and all the stuff. So I was still like in la-la land, I brought the dress home that day with no alterations needed, so again la-la land.
Paid for the honeymoon, still do dah, this is a dream.
Then this tv crew, lalalala NOTHING!
But I am under 30 days, 26 days to be exact, so I started to feel a little bit. Then I woke up from a nap and was like HOLY [email protected]#$%^&*( TOMORROW IS MY HAIR TRIAL. FOR MY WEDDING! I dont think this is the final stage of it setting in, as it just feels like a distant future thing!
So when was your moment(s)?

I’m not getting married until next October, but I’m still in la-la land myself. Although, it did sort of hit me yesterday when Fiance said he wanted to write his own vows. You could have knocked me over with a feather! lol
I think reality will really hit though, when I try on my mom’s veil the next time I visit my parents house.

I had a moment like WOAH, I’m getting married when I was dress shopping but then we ordered the dress….and I went home without one. So, once my dress came in I went for my first fitting. That was kinda like woah because I knew it was MY dress. The one I would walk down the aisle in and become a Mrs.
But even then I was like tralala to a point. I go for another fitting on the 21st. This time my dress should essentially fit me like a glove. I think that will make things more real.
The big thing, for me, was getting our marriage license. I was like woah we’re filling out info in a court so we can get a license…and once it’s in our hands we could go get married like…..right then. That was pretty awesome ^_^
Also, I just finished selecting our ceremony music and that was pretty awesome and like OMGOMGOMG also hahahaha

At different stages it felt surreal… but once I got all of the paperwork done for the church (this past week) I was like HOLY CRAP I’m actually getting married… and it’s happening in a little over a month!!!!! I’m also driving back home home ( my rents house in VA) Monday and staying there until the wedding! It’s going to be SO wierd.

@Woodstock: Oh that’ll be cool! So you’re getting married in VA? =D

It really hit me because the balance payments for my photographer, flowers, and cake were all due a month before, on September 12th – a few days ago. Writing the large checks made it very, very real!

I have been having them this past week. We had people that we work with surprise us with a cake and card at a meetingwand then I got my bouquet delivered. I also made the final payment to the photog. Now I just keep thinking that 3 weeks from today we are leaving to go to Florida for the wedding and 4 weeks from today we are leaving for our honeymoon!! Holy crap!!

I’m teetering on the edge of lala land and reality.
We’ve already paid for the honeymoon, paid for the venue, paid for the tablecloths (bought them instead of renting) and still I’m just breezing through like I’m planning someone else’s wedding!
Yesterday I got sad thinking that this was all about to be over (first time I thought that since I’m usually thinking GET THIS OVER WITH).
I have finally made myself start finishing stuff. I’ve been sort of procrastinating…
I know it’s gonna hit me hard… and soon. I have my fitting/alterations appointment next Saturday. Maybe then?

It hits me in different stages. It feels completely real now because we’re 28 days out and I have so much to do. We’re putting the odds and pieces together. I’m really enjoying it. I’m also mad that I have to go to work when I have so much to do. hahaha.

@SuperDuperBrit: yes’m Original plan was texas (because of a job I thought I was going to get that completely ditched me because they didn’t have the money to hire me ) But that fell through and the rents are helping out so I figured it’d be best to have the wedding in my hometown and be all traditional like that. lol. I’m going to miss Fiance tons though

@SuperDuperBrit: We havent gotten our marriage license yet!
@Mrs.C.to.bee: I know how you feel, we have already paid for everything as of last month, so this month feels crazy!

@Woodstock: Aww, that stinks about Texas but yay for coming back to VA! We’re getting married in VA too. =P We both live here though haha
@out4answers: When can you get your marriage license?

We are getting our marraige liscense the day before! lol Thank goodness VA doesn’t have a waiting period! But it’s only b/c Fiance can’t get up to where the wedding is until literally the day before!
@SuperDuperBrit: Horay for October weddings in VA! lol It should be gorgeous out! I’m hoping it’s cooler than it has been in FL lately.. I also want lots of pretty fall foliage!!!

I’ve had a few moments when it got real:
- When we mailed the invitations
- When we got our marriage license
- When my office HR manager gave me a packet of forms to change my insurance, beneficiary, etc.
But I’m sure it won’t really hit me until we exchange vows and rings.
