A few people who rsvp’ed no bought registry gifts about a month before the wedding.  Most other stuff were purchased a week before the shower.  Then not much after that since its customary to give cash gifts in my culture/circle.

Hi there,

We registered a couple of weeks ago and we got our first gift today. Our wedding is April 21. I was surprised but our shower is in three weeks so maybe that is why.

We got our first gift at the beginning of November off our honeymoon registry.  I was extremely surprised to get a gift that early but they said they wanted to be the first one to buy something off there.  That was followed by a few more gifts since then.  My shower is in a couple weeks and I’ve noticed things off my bed bath beyond registry are starting to get bought.

There was the odd one or two gifts purchased two months out or so.  We got moderately worried that lots of people were going off script (we really don’t have space for stuff, plus already own most everything you can think of!), but thankfully we just received a lot of cash and gift cards for the registry store.

About a month before a few things were purchased, then a few more the week of/two days before.

My brother’s wedding is in Aug, they just registered at Christmas and have one gift purchased thus far.  It was a casserole dish that was on sale for $40 instead of $178!!

I noticed last week when I added things to it that people had started buying things off it. I am having a shower in 3 weeks, so maybe they started buying stuff around a month before my shower?

We included our wedding website with our save-the-dates, so the first purchase off our registry occured when those went out, about six months in advance. Then things really started flying off our registry closer to three months out when my first set of shower invites went out.

We got two items at our engagement party, which was a surprise, because we weren’t expecting any gifts at all.

And then… I might have bought something off of it myself… because I couldn’t wait and the item was going out of stock. Don’t tell. Sealed

We haven’t gotten anything else yet.

About 3 months before my wedding I started getting gifts and I got gifts continuously about every week until a month after my wedding.

All of my guests were from out of town though and I think I got more gifts in the mail because of this.

I only received two gifts at my actual wedding (thank god, I didn’t want to carry anything home).

We registered 10 months before our wedding (so beginning of this past June).  We got engagement gifts as soon as we told FH’s family we registered.  We got several more engagement gifts over the summer.  Now as my shower is in 2 weeks there’s another surge in buying.

Like a week before my shower and then the week before my wedding! lol. My family loves to procrastinate.

We got mostly monetary gifts at our actual wedding.
