I think by 12 weeks I could no longer lay on my stomach at all. If your body is telling you not to lay on your stomach then you need to listen to your body and not what the books may say. Go to Target/Walmart and buy a body pillows for $10-$20, I don’t see the point in spending a lot of money for a special maternity body pillow.

I don’t know when it starts becoming dangerous, but I’m 7weeks and sleeping on my stomach has been uncomfortable for a couple of weeks now!  I’m a stomach sleeper, too, but I just can’t do it anymore because it doesn’t feel good.

I had a bump early on but still managed to sleep on my stomach until about 15 or 16 weeks – at which point it just wasn’t possible. I tried it last night at 19w for a minute, but baby started kicking, so I don’t think he/she liked it. I was afraid of hurting the baby, so I quickly rolled onto my side. Some nights I do fine sleeping on my side, but other nights I toss and turn! Oh the joys! 🙂

I am only 8 weeks and it is already uncomfortable for me. I am still in the bloated stage, so it doesn’t feel good, plus my boobs hurt, so I can’t lie on them!

Maybe this is bad but I’ll be 21 weeks tomorrow and if I position myself just right, it’s still not too bad. Sometimes though my stomach feels really hard and swollen and then I turn right away b/c it’s just not comfortable. I’m really trying to do the side sleeping thing, but it usually doesn’t work out for the entire night.

Around week 15, I could no longer sleep fully on my tummy. Everytime I tried, I could feel my uterus……literally! However, like @fancyfunction:,  if I positon myself where I am half on my tummy & half on my back, it’s fine!

i am 25 weeks and i would say it just got uncomfortable in the past couple of weeks.  this week i started using a pregnancy pillow and it helps to not go on my stomach, but i still always wake up on my back!   i had a weird dream last week where i was wearing regular tight jeans and they were hurting my stomach so bad because, duh, i’m pregnant. what was weird that my entire dream just became focused on the pain the jeans were causing and then i finally woke up and i was on my stomach and it was hurting because it felt so squished!
