I kind of can’t wait to pop! they know at babies r us, because I’ve been there early on buying preggie pops. the other day I went in and made a straight beeline for the bathroom when a worker tried to greet me, but she just laughed.

I feel like I’ve grown a ton in the last two weeks! I am almost 23 weeks. I had my first stranger come up to me last weekend and congrats on my pregnancy.

For the most part, I get looks like people are wondering, but won’t yet say anything.

As for the people that do say something, it has only been women. Not a single man has said anything about my pregnancy… I’ve heard that guys are a little more scared to assume that you are pregnant. Or at least say something. I think women are also better at analyzing another woman’s body and knowing if she is pregnant.

So I’m just now starting to get comments, and feel like I’m starting to look undeniably pregnant.

I keep trying to get them to notice by wearing belts that emphasize my 19wk belly, in hopes that they give me their seat on the metro and bus…So far people either don’t notice or they pretend not to while playing solitaire on their IPhones.

@HopingToBeaMama:  I don’t think any guy wants to be in a situation where he says congrats and it turns out the woman isn’t pregnant! Horrible, awkward moment!

This time I really seem to have ballooned out at 27 weeks. I’ve had a few people say “Wow, you’re about to pop!”

No no. 3 months to go…

I’d say people started commenting around 22 weeks.

Right around 28 weeks. Before that, I’d get some looks, but people didn’t say anything until it was obvious I wasn’t having a burrito baby.

People I think noticed before 20 weeks, but didn’t dare comment or say anything to me until after 20 weeks.  For example, a client asked my colleague if I was pregnant at 16 weeks (but he didn’t dare ask me directly).  At 20 weeks is when I started getting “congratulations” comments from strangers (ie, someone at the grocery store, or the cleaning guy at my office) or people asking when I was due.

I’m almost 27 weeks and people still can’t tell. I can’t wait for it to be warm enough not to need a coat, that should make a huge difference.

I think my first comment was at about 20 weeks, but it was kind of random and didn’t happen consistently until 22/23 weeks … that was when a bunch of old ladies at the breaskfast place by my house tried to let me butt in line to use the bathroom (LOL).

I would say about 22-24 weeks.

People close to me could notice before, but it wasnt until 22-24 weeks that strangers would say things like “oh, little one on the way?” or “Congratulations! boy or girl?”

@KatyElle:  someone just told me “Wow, you look like you’re gonna blow up!” at only 30 weeks! 🙁 Sad day.

@chastenet The rule on most public transportation, esp subways/metros is that the person who needs a seat must request it.

I’ve embarassed myself too many times offering seats to old men who cussed me out or pregnant women who weren’t pregnant.

@PinkMagnolia:  I live in Paris so maybe it’s a cultural thing, but here it is perfectly normal and polite for people to offer.  If someone doesn’t want the seat they just say “No thank you”.
