I just had my moment last night when my fiance put on his wedding band for the first time. I couldn’t stop squealing. Yes, squealing.
When did it hit you? The proposal? First big wedding purchase? Walking down the aisle?

@jwdesiree: It didn’t hit me until like…three minutes before I was actually married…I was standing in the lobby, we were getting married in one of the rooms upstairs, it was Friday Night at the Country Club, which means Crab Leg Buffet so the place was PACKED….I’m standing there, bouquet in hand, shaking like a leaf in my wedding dress while my Dad checked my coat…and I’m looking at the stairs I’m about to go up and I think to myself, “When you come back down those bad boys, you’ll be Mrs. 99.” I must have blanched because this adorable little old woman came over to me from the salad bar in the other room, grabbed my hand, patted it and said, “Its real easy honey, just say yes to every question they ask you.”
….then I felt better.

@jwdesiree: The day after we got engaged, i bought an Engagement Journal. The next day – approx 2-3 days after the proposal- i sat down to start the journal while Fiance was doing some home projects. I started reading the intro- all this stuff about finally making that step, and forever this, forever that- and it hit me. I started balling like a baby!! I made Fiance stop was he was doing to hug me lol!! I didnt cry much after he proposed, so it was like it was happening all over again. I think i’ll have another ‘aha’ moment when buying the dress, then when it gets closer to the wedding date. That was the first moment for sure though!

@jwdesiree: When we sent the save the dates out. It was like ‘OH MAN NOW EVERYONE KNOWS THIS IS THE DAY IT HAPPENS!’

It didn’t hit me until the start of the ceremony, when my bridesmaids started walking down the aisle. And suddenly it was just me and my dad, and we shared a look like “well, I guess this is it!” and off we went!

At my first wedding dress appointment, the first time I ever tried on a dress at all.
It was at the Nordstrom Wedding Suite, so going up two escalators to get to it was way too much time to think. I started getting dizzy and panicking and was feeling sick to my stomach all of a sudden (in front of my Future Mother-In-Law, friend, and a BM) and the consultant had to sit me down and give me water and talk me through it.

@jwdesiree: I truly, TRULY, hit me at 5 minutes before midnight the day before my wedding when I was running down the hotel steps since my Maid/Matron of Honor was taking me to Walmart to get me panties for the day of (I forgot that one minor detail lol).
I stopped dead on the steps and had an anxiety attack and said, “Am I doing the right thing? Can I spend the rest of my life with him?” My Maid/Matron of Honor grabbed me by the hand and said, “Honey, you’re fine. You just forgot panites so you’re freaking out. We’ll get a drink in you later.”
After that, I didn’t have any moments.

@jwdesiree: It hit me when we were waiting at city hall to do the marriage license application! I was like “Oh my goodness, we’re getting married on Friday!”

@Nona99: That’s adorable.
@theEguarantee: Interestingly enough, I thought the day I bought the dress would be the day, but it wasn’t. I swear. So odd!
@springbride23: Ha! I’m thinking when we send the invitations later this month I’ll get another reality check!
I also just remembered another time it hit me harder than normal… the first time I heard my fiance use the term, “fiancee.”

Mine was when we got DH’s suit and he tried on the jacket. He tried it on and then stood there like he was at the top of the aisle waiting for me. It made me just freak out for a second there.

Probably about 5 minutes before I walked down the aisle.

@megz06: Haha, literally laughing out loud. “You just forgot panties, so you’re freaking out.” (P.S. Awesome Maid/Matron of Honor, by the way.)
