Well… marriage still exists after being a newlywed…

The nesting boards are for newlyweds and people who have been married for longer than a year too…it’s for all married people to talk about whatever us married bees want. I enjoyed stalking the nesting boards when I was still unmarried to see what awaited us and now I practically live on this board and rarely go to the main wedding boards. And newlywed life IS married life. OP, please specify what you mean.

Lightbulb! Do you mean that the name of the board changed from newlyweds to married life? Woah, sorry! I have no idea about that. Oh well, same thing really I guess, marriage is marriage wether you’ve been in it for a week or 50 years. 🙂

I like the change.  It’s for us old farts who still putter around here, for whatever reason — I think it will make the boards more active, too.  There is a whole lot more to talk about with respect to married life than newlywed life.

@nellybee:  Touche, I agree with you once you put it like that. 🙂

TO @nellybee: true enough…

But IF you were actually in High School (and not the 8th Grader) you’d want to recognized as finally being IN HIGH SCHOOL not just the kid who graduated from 7th Grade (the Freshman)

In that you are part of the bigger community… you can hear from others in 8th Grade, as well as see and hear what goes on in the rest of the school at the same time.

Just another point of view I guess.

Brought to you by someone…

Who’s been to High School (and wouldn’t go back) and qualifies as BOTH an OLD MARRIED LADY and an NEWLYWED at the same time.

😉 *wink*

@nellybee:  Oh, I didn’t mean to imply that you didn’t recognize there’s more to married life than newlywed life.  I just meant that those of us who have been around for a while might not be comfortable posting  new threads under “newlyweds” — but we might for “married life.”

TO @nellybee:  here’s another thought

I’d say that over 90% of the topics on the old NEWLYWED Board were Questions…

Ok now that we are married…

And gals wanting to know if their experiences were common

Fact is when it was known as the NEWLYWED BOARD… most of the members writing up replies were probably Newlyweds

BUT in actuality, the Bride probably would have benefited from hearing from a much wider audience…

Lol, ya for sure when I was first married it was like that… but now that we’ve been married 2, 3, 5, 10 years… it is more like this

Versus

Sorry didn’t have that experience yet

OR

Ya gosh it drives me crazy… wonder if it will ever end.

As I said, I think it is just another perspective… and as another Bee said, probably a way to appear more welcoming to the many oldtimers here on WBee who have hung around this great community long after their Weddings

Hope this helps,

I understand and agree with OP. I understand that having a board called “Married Life” might allow a broader and more diverse response in some areas, but why not just make it a separate board? Sometimes I only want info/opinions/input from Newlyweds. If and when I want to pose a question to the entire married hive, then I would gladly post on that board. No shade thrown to Bees married for 5+ years, but I did like the distinction. I see it as being similar to having month twins to talk with on the wedding boards. Just my opinion.
