So, Fi and I went to the tux place today and picked out who would wear what and all that. (!!!!!!!!! For some reason it’s just another thing that makes it seem so much more real)
We ended up going with Men’s Wearhouse because of the following reasons
-I know the manager for the Tux Corner part and she offered to give us $60 off each rental, half off Ring bearer, and Fi’s rental could either be free or he could pick out a suit with a $550 value.
-They just recently opened one in the Bestman’s town, so it’s conveinent for everyone.
-They can all just drop off in the city we are getting married in.
-I’m a super stalker and anal about when things need to be done (don’t judge), and I can check on-line to see who’s gotten measurements, and I can call the friend I have and she can tell me who has balances, etc. Which will particularly come in handy for at least one of the best man who would be late to his own funeral.
So, she gave us a deadline for when they needed to get their measurements.. We are getting married on 9.26.15. She said the bridal party should all get fitted by January 1st, this way they’re not running into any sort of prom/wedding rush.
My question to you all is.. when did you have the groomsmen go in and actually get their measurements…? Is it okay to go ahead and give them the heads up and let them know now.. this way if they don’t get them in by January 1st they still have plenty of time..?

We went to Men’s Warehouse for our June 7th wedding. We didn’t even go in until February to look, and the deadline for the groomsmen was April 1st, two of them didn’t even get measured until about two weeks before the wedding (one they lost the measurements and had to get re-measured and ordered two days before wedding….). January is waay too early. Body size can change a lot even just through seasons. Every wedding my Darling Husband has been in he got measured 1-3 months before the wedding. There’s no reason they need measurements 8 months early, especially at a chain.

Nine months ahead of time is way too early. People’s bodies can change so much in nine months! I don’t exactly when our guys had to get measured but I don’t think we even had tuxes picked out that early at MW. FWIW, I would not be happy to be giving my measurements so early, I would be so paranoid of gaining or losing weight. Go ahead and let them know now but give them the actual date they need to be measured by, not that “should” be measured by date.

MrsN14: MrsBeck: The gal told me they can get remeasured slightly before the wedding just to make sure. All of the groomsmen have been about the same size since I’ve known any of them.. so I wouldn’t think they would change to much.. I thought it was sort of early too. Maybe I’ll just give them the same deadline as the Bridesmaid’s have to order their dresses..I just also want to make sure they all have enough time to pay it off and everything. Like I said, the Best Man isn’t very punctual and is late to literally everything and procrastinates any and everything he possibly can.. LOL.
