very very very far in advance.. means you’re able to do a little bit at a time.. i had my Save-The-Date Cards done and ready to mail at the 1 year mark.. I had the same problem with picking where to start.. one day it’ll click and you’ll be like today I want to do so and so.. and tomorrow programs.. and then you’ll have lots of things done

I ended up doing programs and invites all around the same time.. but haven’t printed programs yet..

@eliseemma:  yea i’ve heard petal aisles take a long time.. but they turn out gorgeous.. it’s one of those things i thought about for about 2.5 minutes and then decided i didn’t have the patience for that

Our wedding isnt until 10/3/14 but we are having our wedding in Ohio (we are currently in CA) so even though we have time i feel like i need to get a jump start on everything now! We just started our trial centerpiece last night. My Fiance is taking care of designing our STD’s and i would love to start on the box soon. But like everyone else said the sooner you can start the better. That way there is less to worry about the month or so leading up to your wedding.

@eliseemma:   Things that were going to be definites I made immediately (10 months ahead): cake topper, cardbox, shoe clips, cufflink set for my groom, gifts for my BMs, boutonniere alternatives, and I’m sure there are other things I’m forgetting.

I made my jewelry as soon as I had my dress, so about 8 months before.  I also did our invitations early (6 months ahead), aisle decor I finished around the same time.  I finished my centerpieces and other table decorations (remember you’ll need to decorate your cake table, gift table, escort card table, etc) about 4 months before my wedding.

Last month (3 months ahead) I finished my menu cards, bar menu, wedding programs, tissue packs, Out of Town bags, and guestbooks/table numbers, mad libs, welcome dinner menu, thank you brunch menu, thank you cards, boudoir album, gifts for parents and buffet item signs.  I just finished my escort cards last week (wedding 04/26/13).

I still have my sweet n salty buffet left over to, then I’ll have to do my flowers 1-2 days before the wedding.  One thing that has really helped me is sending out my invites early and making the deadline to respond super early (my deadline was 02/01/13).

I started mine about a year and a half in advance. That way, they are done before the wedding. Just make sure you have a safe, dust-free place to store them!
