tiffyyippie:   My engagement ring was custom made, which involved several trips to the jewelry store with my then-SO now DH.  On those trips we peeked at wedding bands.  We didn’t actually purchase our bands until about two months before the wedding.  He was very decisive, I muddled and wondered for ages until finally choosing mine.

So – we went wedding band shopping together, and bought them a couple of months ahead of the big day – although he had decided on his about six months prior, and it was on the store’s “wish list” so we knew just which one it was.

    Hope that helps!

tiffyyippie:  The e-ring we picked didn’t come with a wedding band (although some of the other ones we had looked at did and that would have been fine).  DH didn’t actually realize at first that he had to buy me 2 rings (apparently a lot of men are clueless on this).

We picked our rings together about 2 months before the wedding for my 31st birthday (the ering was my 30th, figured the wedding band was a good 31st gift and with the wedding coming I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on ‘stuff’).

I think it can be helpful to shop with your SO when purchasing the band. We had a hard time finding a band that would fit my ering, so it was beneficial for me to go to jewelry stores with him to find a band that worked best. When we found one that worked, he had the jeweler jot down the specs and he purchased it later.

tiffyyippie:  Fiance and I bought our wedding bands together, about 8 months after we got engaged. But is not uncommin for some guys to buy a wedding set and save the band for after you all get married. Some settings already come with a matching band! Dont worry too much about it at this point. Just wait to see what he got you and go from there 🙂

I picked out both my engagement ring and my wedding band. He didn’t get them at the same time though and my ring kind of calls for a matching band so there wasn’t much to think about. I definitely think you should pick out your band. I would’ve picked something different for my fiance (still love his choice though) but he’s wearing it.

He picked out my e-ring by himself, and I will be choosing my wedding band by myself.

tiffyyippie:  We bought my wedding band together a couple weeks ago (so about 5 weeks before the wedding). I picked it out, Fiance had no say in it, except for the price haha.

tiffyyippie:  Ugh I voted the wrong option!  Hubby and I bought the band and the ering together.  Right around the same time he bought his wedding band.  I had no input on the band and the only input he had on the ring was that I be happy with it.

I chose the third option, but we actually each chose our own with no real input from each other.

I didn’t vote because I am none of the above.  I bought mine on my own.  I was very indecisive and he doesn’t have much patience for that while shopping at the best of times lol.  He’s the type to walk in, see the options, buy.  Done in 5 mins.  I scouted every jewelery store in the city as well as online before I found something.  I took months lol.

My e-ring came with a matching band. Butm we did go out and look for an additional band to add to it. They didn’t make an exact match, as it was only in the set. BUT, a couple weeks later I got a call from the jewelry store advising me that they were able to have a matcing band made – so it was ordered. Now both bands sit on either side of the e-ring.

I technically bought the additional ring, but there was something that DH and I split off on paying, so he ended up paying for some of it. I can’t remember the terms, but if it makes him feel better knowing he paid for it, then it’s OK with me. It was on my CC bill though, ha.

He picked the e-ring out and after we got engaged, he took me to the jeweler who designed my e-ring with him so I could get a custom-designed band to match.
