@Barbiestylez: We got engaged July 17th, 2013 and we are getting married October 25th, 2014 🙂 Just for reference.
1.WHEN DID YOU BOOK YOUR VENUE/COST? We booked the end of August…so about 13.5ish months out. Down payment of $500 but no booking fee for a party of over 150 guests. We easily had this amount from just my side of the guest list! We can do the ceremony outside if it is nice and we want to, otherwise we will do the ceremony in the reception area.
2.WHEN DID YOU BOOK YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER/COST? I had already inquired a few before we got engaged and somewhat picked one. Fiance and I discussed it and decided on a family friend who does it. We were quoted (before we got engaged) for about $150 but she had done some more weddings and upgraded her camera and editing tools so after we got engaged she changed it to $300 which is still amazing! This is for engagement pictures and a digital copy…as well as grooms dinner (if I want), all day on the wedding day if I want and digital copies of the pictures.
3.WHEN DID YOU BOOK YOUR DJ/COST? Still need to book this – I’m thinking somewhere in the $600-$800ish range.
4.WHEN DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR CATERER/COST? Catering is included in the venue….it will be about $16 for a two meat buffet.
5.WHEN DID YOU PURCHASE OR CHOOSE YOUR DRESS/COST? I purchased my dress November 3rd….so a little over a year in advance….and I’m going to have alterations done by someone else. It costed about $480 with a garment bag.
6.WHEN DID YOU HAVE YOUR BRIDESMAIDS BUY THEIR DRESSES? I would like them to buy the dresses by April. My two sisters are ordering theirs on Tuesday 1/21 though. Those will cost about $130
7. WHEN DID YOU HAVE YOUR Fiance AND GROOMSMEN GET FITTED? Fiance was fitted the beginning of December…his dad will be getting fitted soon and I’m unsure when the other guys will be. I would like them to at least during or before June.
8.WHEN DID YOU PRINT YOUR INVITATIONS/COST? My save the date’s were $25 without stamps….my invitations are not printed yet but I have the invites/envelopes and rsvps/envelopes and got them off Hobby Lobby 100/$25 on sale. I bought ink for about $25 on sale from an online place because I’m printing my own.
9.WHEN DID YOU PURCHASE OR MAKE YOUR CENTERPIECES/COST? I will be making them….mirrors, jars/vases, and fake tealights from $ store…ribbon from Hobby Lobby…ad will be getting purple flower petals from Oriental Trading. They will be about $4/centerpiece. I have to finish buying a couple things and then put them together.
10.WHEN DID YOU HAVE YOUR MAKEUP/HAIR TRIAL/COST? One of my really good friends went to cosmotology school. She is my personal attendant and will also be doing my hair for the wedding. Haven’t had anything for this yet.
11.WHEN DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR FLORIST/COST? I will be my florist lol. I want flowers I can keep forever so I’m doing silk flowers and putting them together – wayyyyyyyyyyy cheaper. Using afloral.com and Joann for the flowers 🙂 Unsure of cost yet.
