I’m 17 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I’m wondering when I will feel the baby move for the first time? At how many weeks? All day today at random I’ve been feeling a wave in my stomach that feels like a slight pain (like when you hold your pee for a long time and do go). I’m wondering if that’s feeling the baby moving or if it’s just a wierd belly flop pain that comes and goes? Also if I lay down my stomach makes grumbling gas noises so I wonder if that’s just gas or also mvoement? I’m excited to feel the baby move for sure so it feels more real to me I’m still in disbelief

giaf1 : aren’t “when” and “how many weeks” the same thing? 😉 I was 20 weeks when I felt the first definite, hard kick. I’d felt occasional little flutters around 18-19 weeks. This is a bit late though, since I had an anterior placenta.

18 weeks 0 days was the first time I was the kick from the outside, which confirmed that funny flutters I’d felt for a few days were indeed baby. So what you’re feeling probably is baby but just wait til you see a foot kick out! It’s unreal!

I also had an anterior placenta and I didn’t feel the baby until around 21 weeks. But when I did feel it there was no doubt to what it was!

FLutters around 18w and mov’t around 22w. Darling Husband didn’t feel the baby till after week 25.

I felt definitive movement at 19.5 weeks. It was during my anatomy ultrasound when I simultaneously saw the baby move on screen and felt him at the same time, that I knew definitively that the ‘gas’ I was experiencing in the last couple weeks before that were actual baby movements. I think Darling Husband felt baby for the first time around 21-22 weeks or so, and then just a few days ago we saw movement from the outside (I’m 24 weeks now).

Felt baby at 16 weeks and could see movement from outside my tummy at the end of 17 weeks. The midwife didnt believe me until she put the doppler on my belly and she tried to kick it off

About 18 weeks. To me it didn’t feel like gas at all… it was more like a strong muscle twitch at first. My husband was able to feel the kicks from the outside around 20 weeks.

I felt tiny flutters starting at 16w, but I still can’t say whether or not they were the baby. Definitely by 21 weeks I was feeling solid kicks all the time!

I felt flutters on and off around 16 weeks. Then since about 17 and a half weeks, it’s been a daily occurrence. It started with maybe feeling something once a day to now at 19w3d I feel movement several times a day.

I didn’t feel any flutters at all, just suddenly and definitively felt movement at 21 weeks.

I felt my son move for the first time right before my 20 week ultrasound. Like literally right before I went in the room. I had an anterior placenta and barely felt my son move throughout the entire pregnancy. I’d feel him a couple times a day randomly.

I’m about 21 weeks. Started feeling flutters at 18 weeks and started feeling her move around near end of 19- beginning of 20 weeks.

First flutter at about 19 weeks, and then slowly more and more.

First time pregnant, first baby and I’m 20 weeks tomorrow and have not felt a thing. I asked my dr last week and he said I had posterior placenta and that I should actually feel early…but nada.
I have a feeling it’ll be awhile yet. I know people who felt flutters as early as 13-14 but felt stuff at 17 and 18.
I’m so excited and anxious (but I know soon after will be like “OW…”)
