I have two kids, now 5 and 6, and I never left them overnight anywhere until they could walk and talk.
I had to travel for work when DD was ~7 months old, so she was with DH for several days and that went fine. Then just a couple weeks ago, we did our first trip away where she went and stayed with my parents, at a year old almost exactly. She handled it just fine! I shouldn’t have worried.
Daughter is over 9 months, and I can’t imagine leaving her alone over night with someone else any time soon. I know that sounds really needy, but I’m not ready yet. I think our honeymoon will be delayed for at least another year because I’m not ready to leave her alone for the whole night without us. I know I’m pathetic 🙁
My LO is just two and we are yet to spend a night apart. Part of that is circumstantial as we moved away from our family and support network when LO was only 15 months old (and still night nursing) so overnights haven’t been feasible.
I had to be out of town for work for a night when mine was about 5 months old, and I was NOT happy about it. The next time we left him overnight was at about a year and a half and that was fine (he was mostly weaned by that point so it was easier).
After that, I didn’t leave him until he was 2 or 3. There wasn’t a need for it. When I traveled, he came with.
My LO is almost 9 months and I can’t do it yet. I am the last face he sees at night and the first face in the morning and I LOVE our bedtime routine….I just can’t.
My LO will be 8 months on Sunday. We have not done any overnights, she EBF’s, won’t take a bottle, nurses to sleep and still nurses a couple of times a night. And we live 2,500 miles from our closest family so theres that too =)
I felt bad leaving him at 3-4 months but it was our wedding night and my parents were a flight of stairs and a room away so if anything went wrong I wasn’t far away. We had plenty of frozen EBM stored just for that night. He slept through the night anyway!
