I saw my ring about 8 months before we got engaged. I spotted it on Instagram when I searched #asscher. An antique jeweler was showing it on their Instagram as recently sold. The original ring was from the 1930s. I showed my now fiance and wouldn’t stop talking about it for months. He contacted the jeweler and they were able to create a replica setting and fit it with a diamond of his choice. I love my ring!

I saw a seller on etsy and I knew I wanted her to design my ring. I wanted carved intertwining trees to symbolize our lives joining together and she placed the diamonds to look like a moon and stars. I love it!IMG_2667

There have been many, many dream rings over the years. The first I saw when I was taking another ring in for cleaning. I had my then Boyfriend or Best Friend come in to look at it, and he loved it too, and 9! months later it was on my hand. However, it was a relationship that was not meant to be. I gave it back to him, and suspect it is now on his widow’s hand.

The second came when, shocker, I took yet another ring in for cleaning. It was perfect, even though the diamond was something like a JK, and it was rated something like an s1. You could see straight into it with a loupe and never see the flaws. It spoke to me.

And then I found this ring after my guy told me to go looking. It was more than kind of perfect for me. It had milgrain, and some cutouts, and we could choose our own stone, and it came with a wedding band.

And then came the Jolie from Brilliant Earth, I saw it on pinterest, and I thought, how delicately perfect – until I saw it in person and realized that it was just a little too delicate. The detail would not be seen really.

And then I moved onto the Floriana. It was so much more beautiful in person, but there were some variations I would have made (like add one more petal structure to the bottom so there were three sets and not two), so we were going to have it customized…

And while peeping on the floriana, another ring caught my eye. One I couldn’t get off my mind. I had it in, and it was so perfect but the head was so ordinary. The prongs so large. Since we were going custom no matter what, I decided to tell the jeweler to keep the feathers that go up the side, and change the 4-prong boring head to something that fit the sides better.  And at long last, beautiful crown, with beautiful shoulders. From my photoshopped file, to the final product!

This is is the only engagement ring I’ve ever liked,it’s antique (Georgian) with sapphires round the band and a rose cut diamond in the centre. Its already sold but I’d like a copy made.

or otherwise this ring below I really love, but obviously a rose cut diamond instead of the quartz pictured.

faina9286 :  Being a September baby, sapphire is my birthstone. I LOVE the traditional blue but I am in absolute awe of your ring. I think it is my favorite that I have seen on the Bee so far.

My husband agreed to let me redesign my ring after not being able to wear it for 3 years. My hands got bigger when I got pregnant, and never shrunk back down. Instead of resizing it I wanted to change it altogether. I wasn’t in love with my original setting, but would never tell him that.

When looking for ideas for what I could change my ring into, I saw this:

I kept going back to this ring no matter how many different styles I looked at. I don’t know why I was so drawn to it, but I loved the classic delicate shape and thin gold band.

This is my ring. I love it!

What a great idea!

I found my dream ring browsing blue Nile, and pinned a whole bunch of round halo with pave bands on Pinterest! It has the classic round brilliant diamond, with extra pizzaz and sparkle! That was it for me πŸ™‚

for some reason I can’t attach my own pic, ‘not the right file type’

Not the exact ring but the style I’d wanted for years, even before I met my FI! And it’s what I ended up going with over 5 years later πŸ™‚

My original ering wasn’t my forever ring although I did wear and love it for six years. I knew one day I wanted an AVC, like the ones sold by Good Old Gold (not my pic, just googled!). Eventually I found my dream stone on Jewels by Grace (actual antique cushion, not a reproduction) and she made me a setting. I literally cannot improve on this ring in my own mind!

I saw my dream ring on another forum I read way back in 2009. I do not own my own version yet. Have to wait til we can afford it. But it was the first time I ever realised that engagement rings didn’t NEED to be diamonds. This lady had a beauuuutiful sapphire ring that I just adored. I think it was a solitaire but could’ve had a halo. I don’t remember. But I will never forget the shade of blue. Sadly her picture of it is gone now. But man! I absolutely covet and will have a blue sapphire solitaire someday! Either that or a blue diamond. But probably a sapphire. Drool forever! Lol
