So, long story short… we have been ttc for about 1 1/2 years…. I am 26 and hubby is 33. I have tracked my temps, I use opks (ovulate cd 13/14), have regular 28 day cycles… etc. Hubby got a sperm analysis and everything is perfect. We are both healthy, normal weight, active…etc etc.
I am finally going to a fertility doctor to get some more testing. I want to ask for a HSG asap because thats the only thing that I feel could be our problem… since it looks as if I ovulate regularly.
So my question is, how long did it take a doctor to recommend a HSG? I am hoping she doesnt want to wait a few cycles before doing it. Just curious!!

@Sbee82: You normally do it at the begining of your cycle. I think it was day 6-10 ish. You will most likely need a pregnancy test done beforehand and need to abstain until after the test.

@Sbee82: Your story sounds similar to ours (except I’m a couple years older and my cycles were a couple days longer). We were ttc ing for 18 months when i got my hsg, the re referred me after our first appt and had to wait a couple of months for an appointment but i think that was more to do with waiting lists than trying longer. As PP noted, it needs to be done before you ovulate, and you have to abstain from sex or use barrier protection from your last period until the test, this is to make sure that you are not in early pregnancy as the flushing clears out your tubes. Needless to say I am now 16 weeks pregnant, got pregnant 4 cycles after my hsg after nearly 2years of trying. I hope your plans work out well.
