How long were you with your guy before you got the itch to get married and started dropping hints or talking marriage?
I think I was earlier than most. By 6 months I already knew I wanted to get married and hinted that to him. I guess I am an impatient bee. But lucky for me, he didn’t make me wait too long.

I started thinking about it about 2 years in, but that was because my brother was getting married then and I’d been behind the scenes in his planning process and started falling down that rabbit hole (the ins and outs of family drama, pretty wedding blogs, etc) 😉 if my brother hadn’t been getting married, I think I wouldn’t have started thinking about it for awhile longer because I was still pretty young at that point (24 at my bro’s wedding) and always imagined getting married older. though maybe not– dh and I had just moved in together and got a dog, so we were already getting pretty domestic at that point.

I think we first talked about it right before we moved in together! So about 6 months. Fiance was ready to settle down, apparently! I didn’t get a (really bad) wedding itch until we’d been together a little over a year, and he proposed at 14.5 months of dating!

@lilsweetie: I started thinking about marrying him around 5-6 months. Still waiting 🙂

Around our 8 year anniversary, just under a year ago 🙂 We’re pretty young though, and started dating before highschool even, so marriage wasn’t even on our minds until recently.

@lilsweetie: I impromtu proposed at 7 months sooo pretty early for me too!

I got it BAD after we’d been dating a year. We had talked about it extensively very early on (2 months), but he ended up proposing at 1.5 years.

I got the itch a few months short of 3 years. We’re pretty young, but even I’m surprised that we were at his brothers wedding 6 months prior to that and it took me that long to start thinking about it lol Before that point I never even looked at engagement rings (not even pictures!) I can’t believe myself now haha I’ve been on this site all day today lol

did you start dating in Grade 8? That is so sweet that you’ve basically grown up together thru the teen years,

Not until about 9 years in (when I was ~27)! Crazy, I know. Marriage always seemed like something “grownups” do and I didn’t feel that way for a long time.

6 weeks after we met. We were engaged 6 weeks after that.

@lilsweetie: I would have say about 8 years in! We got engaged on our 9 year annivesary. We had discussed marriage before, but didn’t really start talking a wedding until the 8 year mark.
We were young when we started dating, so at 24 and 26, we decided we were stable enough to take the next step.

Thanks 🙂 And yeah at the very end if grade 7 actually!

never. it just progressed naturally and he was the one to bring it up first – and pretty early on.

I definitely starting getting antsy about early November of last year. After nearly three years, I thought it was time!
