How many weeks, months do you have your hair and make up trial before the wedding?
ETA: I forgot to ask, how much was your trial?
How many weeks, months do you have your hair and make up trial before the wedding?
ETA: I forgot to ask, how much was your trial?
I had my trial this past Saturday and it didn’t go we’ll.. My wedding is next weekend but I found a new person and that trial is on Sunday., hopefully it will go great.. Coming from my experience I wish I would have done it 2 months sooner rather than 2 weeks before.
I had my hair trial 20 days before my wedding. Im a makeup artist so I did my own trial about 2 weeks before my day.
My hair and make up artist is charging $200, the trial is usually $120 but she did a bonus for the month I signed up and it was $60 plus $20 for airbrushing.
I’m probably going to have my hair and makeup trial done for my Bachelorette party, in September (almost exactly a month before the wedding). I’d hate to waste good hair and makeup to do nothing lol. I believe it costs $25 for makeup and $30 for hair trials (I could be off a little but I’m too lazy to go back and look at the contract)
I had my makeup trial last March… (WAY early I know) because she wouldn’t allow me to put a deposit down and tentatively book the date without having the trial since she considered that a risk that I would just walk away from the deposit if I wasn’t happy.
My Hair Trial is the end of May for my July wedding as she had no such stipulations and she will do my full colour/cut and trial for $130. We will have a touch-up the week before the wedding so my colour looks fresh.
My wedding is in June..
I had my hair trial in January. I was really happy I did it early, even though I happened to love my person, if we hadn’t clicked I would’ve had plenty of time to find a new salon. My hair will be $155 including trial, I put down a $25 deposit on day of trial (goes towards total cost).
My MUA did my trial in November. Again, we met early just to see if we would click. She is a Bobby Brown manager so i was able to just go to Macy’s and do a trial at the store. I put down $25 deposit to secure my date, that goes towards total cost ($125). We are going to meet again a month before the wedding to do make up again the same way we did in Novermber, just to make sure I still like everything.
I had my trial done about 9 months out from my wedding, and I’m so glad I did! I ended up not liking the hair or makeup at all and had no faith that they could even change it to pull off what I wanted, so I cancelled services with that company. I am so glad I did because if it had been closer to my wedding I wouldn’t have been able to find anyone else, and I love the new M.U.A. that I hired!
Mine is July 13th, so just about 6 weeks before the wedding. I believe I pay the same price that I’ll pay on the day of, so $92 (mrgh).
ETA: I don’t know that price for sure, as when I asked about pricing, she handed me a brochure and circled the special occasion price and the makeup price and mentioned something about I could tell my bridesmaids those prices. I thought it was pretty obvious that I meant my TRIAL prices, but we were booking my trial and the day of at the same time.
My wedding is June 16th, and my hair and makeup trial is on June 3rd… that might be cutting it a little bit close, but I am ok with that; i feel like to far in advance and we might not remember the specifics of what we diceided during the trial.
