I didn’t know until I was 3 days late (14DPO) and took a test.  For me, early symptoms were only apparent once I knew I was pregnant and not just PMSing.  Virtually identical feeling, otherwise.

I was using OPK tests and a few days after I ovulated we went out to breakfast and I told Darling Husband that I was pretty sure I was pegnant. I just had a feeling. Then the whole next week I just kept saying that I felt like I was pregnant. I tested several times way too early and got BFN’s but they didn’t bother me because I just felt like they were wrong. I didn’t have any symptoms that were different than normal PMS stuff except for the feeling that something was different. I finally got my BFP at 9DPO and I was so happy, but not surprised.

I can’t say how many days past ovulation, because I wasn’t even keeping track of it, but I found out when my period was 3 days late (for a 30-day cycle).  I had a symptom that was bothersome, so I tested.

I typically had very mild cramping up to a week before my period would start.  A few days before my period was expected, I got really bad cramping.  Sometimes I would get this but it would always be in conjunction with my period, but I wasn’t getting my period.  I had two nights that it woke me up and I was literally doubled over shaking on the bathroom floor…but no period.  Those wonderful experiences were implantation cramps 🙂  I also had some stretching feelings in my lower abdomen.  I tested the day my period was supposed to come and it was positive, but I was expecting it by that point because of the weird cramping that wasn’t typical.

@octoberbaby:  Have you seen this? Might help you see the jist of pregnancy tests. I will say that it was about right for me.  I got a BFN in the morning of 12 DPO, a super light squinter that night that I couldn’t be sure of, and a really like BFP on 13 DPO. My period was roughly supposed to start 13-14 DPO.

@octoberbaby:  Well, the main point is that if you test more than one day before your period is due, the chance is way, way higher that you’ll get a false BFN. Regardless of LP length.

I had only been off the pill 4 cycles and trying for 1, but because I was charting and felt very attuned to my body, it was apparent to me that something was different by 8 to 10 DPO, possibly sooner. I may have had implantation spotting, and I had the symptoms of a yeast infection at what is normally a very odd time in my cycle to get one. By 12DPO I was convinced, and at 14 I had unmistakably odd moods and heartburn with a triphasic temp spike.

I was charting or paying attention to my period, I knew I o’ed but after that point I wasn’t keeping up with it until my daughters dad told me I may be pregnant after I started feeling extreme nipple sensitivity. I didn’t believe it at that point but my tests were a BFP.
