I have a few people traveling to make it out to my shower, so my cousin who is hosting said the most convenient date for the travelers is end of April. I’ll be 34weeks. I’m not going to mention anything because I’m super grateful to be even getting a shower, but is this too late? Darling Husband keeps asking if that’ll give us enough time to get everything ready and I don’t really know what to tell him! I just want to hear your experiences.
When did you have your shower? Or when will you have your shower?
Was it convenient? Did you have enough time to set everything up before baby showed up?

IDK when is “convenient” to have a shower, but I think 34 weeks will give you sometime to get whatever you dont get at your shower. My shower will be mid-march, and I will be 30 weeks, but I am only having it at that time because I dont want to be toooooooo big to not enjoy myself with my guests, ya’ know 🙂 GL

I had my baby shower at 30 weeks and to be honest, even with having to return/exchange what we didn’t want, buy what we still didn’t have AND setting up the nursery, we had plenty of time and could have held off. My family just chose to do it that early because the Dirty Delete was due at the end of December and they didn’t want to have it too close to the Thanksgiving or Christmas.

@MrsRichard: I will be 33 weeks when we have my baby shower (February 22), and that seemed like an appropriate time. I felt it is convenient for me, anyway, because then I have all of March to wash clothes and get stuff set up. I have a feeling even with the date that is set for you that you will have plently of time to get everything situated.

I had mine at 35 weeks. I was nervous it was too late, but it was summer and a lot of people had summer plans we had to work around. It ended up being fine! I had a lot of her room set up though before the shower, and I went through a pretty intense nesting period before she was born so I spent my weekends setting up the rest and buying last minute things I needed. It helped she was a week late too..

Well technically mine would have been at 35 weeks but since I went early and gave birth at 32 almost 33 weeks, so was after he was born

I will be 36 weeks at my shower. Unfortunately because of scheduling conflicts we could not have done it any earlier. Except for bedding, our nursery is set up, so i don’t think it is a big deal to have a later shower.

@MrsRichard: I think you should just have it when it is conovenient to everyone involved. I had three… I live in Dallas, TX. I had one shower in Chicago at 28 weeks, one in Houston at 32 weeks and the last one in Dallas at 34 weeks. We still had plenty of time to get everything we needed. The chances of you having the baby before 36-38 weeks are pretty slim and if that happens you can just get the baby stuff afterward.

I had mine at 34 weeks. I think it was at the perfect time. I felt like I had plenty of time afterwards to buy everything we needed, set up the nursery, etc.

I’m having mine I believe at 36 weeks.

I wanted mine between 28-32 weeks – it ended up cancelled. At this point if I have a shower (which I’m really not even on board with anymore), it’ll be a month or more after our baby is born.

I’m having mine at 35 weeks. My sister is hosting it and she lives out of town, so it worked best for her.

My shower is next weekend. I will be 34+4. At first I was SUPER nervous that we were cutting it too close to the due date or that I would be huge, but the Christmas and New Year’s holiday kind of made scheduling difficult. So far I have been feeling pretty good so I’m not too worries any longer. But to be 100% honest NOTHING is set up in our nursery except the painting done to the walls. Our family bought all of the big items so we HAVE to wait until the shower to get it. I jut pray this LO stays in for a few more weeks so I can have time to prepare and set up the nursery like I always planned too.

I had one at 34 weeks (with family) and one at 35 weeks (work friends). We already had our major stuff (crib, car seat, etc.) as gifts from parents/grandparents, so if the baby had come early, we would’ve been set with essentials. The timing worked well, because I was big enough to have a cute belly but not so big that I was really exhausted and swollen. I wouldn’t have wanted to do it much later though, because around 36-37 weeks I started to get really uncomfortable.
