midwestmiss :  my fh said it fast…less than a month. It spooked me, I was freshly divorced and not ready to say that to anyone. But I relaxed into it, it took me about a month longer.

It took me about 9 months to  fall madly in love with him. Like all-in.

Pretty much straight away, but then we did ‘everything’ pretty much straight away lol . Seems to have worked for us, we’ve been together years and years. I can’t remember who said it first.

A month and a half in. I said it right after sex too which is not advised πŸ˜‚ I said it first and he immediately smiled and said he loved me too.

We both felt it about a month in, though. He actually knew how I felt before I said it because I was showing him something in my phone a couple weeks prior and one of my open tabs was “how soon is too soon to say I love you.” He later told me he had googled a similar question.

Everything about our relationship moved pretty quickly, but we’d both had enough bad/mediocre relationships to feel confident in all the steps we were taking. When you know, you know.

midwestmiss :  after 2-3 weeks of “officially” dating (in total, less than 2 months of seeing each other). It felt right and we both meant it! We are in our mid-twenties, been together almost 2 years, and getting married in September.

_knickknack :  Your post made me smile because it reminded me so mucj of my experience! I said it DURING the first time we had sex lol and he seemed a little surprised and asked “really?” πŸ˜‚ and then he said it back.

Our relationship moved pretty quickly too but in my mind it felt like forever before we finally got officially married 1.5 years later since we had moved in at 2-3 months and we already felt married at that point.

midwestmiss :  You sound like my husband and I. I was holding back from telling him, but I told him a couple of months in. He wanted to be super sure and told me 7 months in.

Just over a month in I was thinking it. And frantically Googling how soon was too soon to say it. I would “test drive” the L word by saying I loved specific things about him, like “I love your smile.” Around the same time, he started saying, “I adore you.” which he later told me was his way of saying that he loved me without saying it. Around 2 months in we each said “I love you” for the first time out loud.

It was around 5 months. We started dating in the September, and we said it on Valentine’s Day

He said it about a month after officially dating, and I said it maybe two months after officially dating. We’ve been together 9 years! I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer. When you feel it, you feel it!

I said it at 3 months in, he said it at 6 months in. I think if you feel it, you should say it.
