DF’s sister is having a destination wedding in July. Dear Fiance I had originally planned on a July wedding but moved ours to August to accommodate them… Anyway, money will be tight as we are planning our own wedding and I was wondering when destination brides typically send out invitations so we know how much it will cost and the date of their wedding which hopefully won’t be super close to ours.

@Carmabelle: We let our guests know the dates and price abour a year before the wedding. Most destination brides should give ample notice to there guests so guests have time to prepare

we sent out our save the dates that included hotels, transportation info, and more and sent emails with links to our website at 11 months out. so somebody could know the date and all of the costs then. we’ll probably send invites 6 months out to most guests.

Im hoping they set a date and book a resort ASAP. DF’s mom will let us know as soon as they book. So I’m not too concerned about the invites but just them deciding on a date and resort!

We sent save the dates about 1 year before the wedding and our invites went out in mid-April, so 6 months before the wedding. We sent them so far ahead because all room bookings needed to be done by July 21st so realy we gave our guests 3 months to decide after the invites went out.
