Curse facebook! It makes me feel like an old shit when I sign in and see THREE old high school classmates have gotten married in the last month. And, of course, the BABIES everywhere! I’m happy for everyone but it seriously makes me feel old and I’m 24. Yes, 24.
People always made it seem like Darling Husband and I got married young (I was and still am 24, he was and still is 25) so I guess it’s surprising to see so many other 24/25 year olds getting married/having kids lately! Maybe it’s just me! So that brings me to my poll.. I would definitely say I JUST realized everyone around me is getting married/close to getting married and/or having kids. When did you start to notice it happening?

I think it is cyclic- I had a whole heap of friends get married/had kids straight out of high school (18-19 some of my friends have 15/16 year olds). Then after University (so 22-24)I had another lot of friends get married/have kids and then again at 30.
Every individual has different life goals and when they should be met. The only thing that is important is doing those things when you want to!

One of two of the people in my immediate friends group got married right after or even during highschool. Now at 23-28 we’re all doing it again (no divorces mind you, just the rest of us) and I’ll be one of the older ones in the set (I’ll be 29 when we get married).

Actually just recently. In June and July, every single Saturday had friends on my FB getting married. No joke! All are my age – almost 24 – or younger. Bit of the kids thing too (but I don’t want kids ever so I don’t care about that). It seriously makes me depressed though watching people get engaged and married, and there’s me, who this past week has been hell on my (possibly former) relationship.
I’m obviously happy for these people, but at the same time, you wish you could be that happy one.
