i started looking about 9 1/2 month before the wedding and bought a dress about 8 months before. my dress took 2 months to get here—they had originally said 4 months. i was really surprised it got here so quickly.

I started shopping 10 months out and I ordered it 9 months out and it just arrived this month.  It took 7 months to arrive.  Like the PP have mentioned, leave yourself plenty of time Wink

I started shopping late spring/early sumer and ordered my dress 2 months ago. I am going to be moving away from family next summer so wanted to have this experience with them and have all the time I need with the dress and alterations.

The wedding is 8 months away, and I found my dress on the rack- it’s at my parents house ๐Ÿ™‚ My mom and I went out “just to look” (the week after we got engaged!) and I fell in love with a beautiful halter dress at DB and it was clearence so it was now or never. I sort of miss trying on dresses, I so looked forward to that part…but I found my dress on the first trip and I look forward to wearing it on our wedding day ๐Ÿ™‚

I started looking about 9-10 months from my wedding.  My dress took just under(one week) 7 months to arrive.  Then I needed the alterations..so give yourself some time.  No need to rush right out but it’s good to give yourself some time so you aren’t rushing close to teh wedding or stressing if the dress is a couple weeks late.  Enjoy!!!  That was my favorite part of the wedding planning. ๐Ÿ™‚

I started looking in June I guess.  We were officially engaged in May.  So around 9 months, and it was a good thing too, because I am picky picky picky and had a heck of a time finding what I liked in my budget!!  Plus I figure the longer I had to put off ordering, the more likely I would find MY dress second hand and cheaper, which is exactly what happened.  I decided (finally), tried it on new at David’s Bridal, then bought it on ebay for a song. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m getting nervous! Only about 10 months to the wedding and I haven’t even started looking at dresses…other then the lovely dresses I see in pictures here! Mom and I have picked a couple days next week to go shopping. Hopefully I can find mine soon!

My BMs took me shopping very soon after I got engaged, but I won’t actually be purchasing a dress until about 4-6 weeks at the most before the wedding. Don’t you just love immigration, lol ๐Ÿ™‚

I went shopping about two weeks after we got engaged.  One store and bought the first one I tried on (out of 4 tried on).  They said it would take 6 months to get it in but I it actually arrived in 3 months!

Both my dress and the BM’s dresses were ordered 10 months before the wedding. I was lucky that we found all of the dresses on the very first shopping trip. They arrived within 3 1/2 months, even though the shop said it would take six months.
