(Closed) When did you start using your new name?

@orchidaloha:  I actually don’t think it’s silly or strange to start using your new name for certain things.  I about fifty days away from my wedding- so if it’s something that’s being newly set up, and I will be using a username often or something, I would definitely consider using my NEW name at this point- one less thing to have to change later.  

Now I’m not going to start changing anything from my old name to my new name until after we are married, but little things like new accounts (that don’t require legal documentaion, absolutely.  

I think it might be strange if you started introducing yourself with your new last name beforehand to people……but I think what you did is totally acceptable.

I changed my Facebook name the day after the wedding, but didn’t get the ball rolling on changing my legal name (drivers license, credit cards, etc) until 3 months afterward. It’s been about a month and I’m still in the process of changing over…. I have a big ol spreadsheet keeping track of it. You never realize how many freakin accounts you have until you have to change them all! If you’re creating a new account a month or two before the wedding, by all means, get that one out of the way while you can!
