Just curious when you Bee’s switched from Bassinet to Crib? My baby is 7 weeks old and getting really long for her Bassinet, Im thinking it may be time soon. I was going to wait until she starts sleeping a little longer at night first but Im not sure.

My daughter was 4 weeks old. We kept her in our room for a month and that is when she slept in the bassinet. She was very long though so she outgrew it very quickly! I think they are okay in it as long as they are comfortable and they have room. Once her legs were touching the bottom of the bassinet and she didnt fit I moved her into the crib. Of course, I was a nervous wreck having her in a different room and in the big crib but it was for the best! She did great!

my bassinet was large & went to 15 lbs, so I picked 2-3 months

I used a basket the first two months (it was a big basket) and just went to a twin-sized matteress on the floor thereafter. My “baby” is now a teenager so she obviously survived.

I never used a bassinet with either of my boys, they slept in their crib from day one. I would say if she doesn’t have much space, it’s time to move to the crib.

We moved Addie from the co-sleeper into our bed at about 2-3 months, but she easily could’ve fit in there until 5 or so months. Many babies likes the smaller, cozier bassinet for the first few months of their lives, but plenty of babies are fine sleeping in a bigger crib at a very young age. You could always try to move her, and if it doesn’t work, just move her back. 🙂

@Blondiebee: So funny I just asked this same question – looks like we’re both in the same place! We just moved LO to his own room this week but he’s been a pretty good sleeper, I think it was harder for me than him (since I still do the paranoid breath-checking).

We switched from the basinette in our room (pack and play, actually) to the crib after the first week. Like @camrie I definitely still did the breathing check for several weeks after! It wasn’t a hard transition for the baby at all. I think the crib was so much more comfortable than the bassinet
