@rachiebabie:  Yup I will be working my ass off to find a new job before my mat leave is over. So for now I’m saving as much as possible so I can take the max amt of time off.

Sadly, if my old boss was still here, I probably would have already told her even though I’m only 9 weeks, because I could have trusted her if something did go awry, and she would be understanding about all the appointments.

I told my boss at about 8 weeks, when I started suffering from pretty nasty morning sickness. I tried to keep it from everyone else until 13 weeks though.

I pretty much ahd to tell them right away for a few reasons. I was MAYBE 5 weeks when I told them, and 8 1/2 when I stopped working.
I was working where I had to carry boxes up and down ladders, and had a LOT off things going through my head every time I did it. Also, I worked in a very small store with MAYBE 6 people total. They guessed it because I was SO SICK from my prenatals I was taking at the time.

I told my boss before I knew for sure, he knew we were trying, he was the second person, after my husband, and only because I couldn’t reach my aunt, to know. However, I have an amazing with my boss, so I’m the exception to the rule.

@the_newlymintedmrs-s17:  I’ll probably tell my boss around 10-12 weeks (not pregnant yet, but TTC now). I definitely will be going back, so I want to give her the courtesy of having plenty of time to prepare for my temporary replacement.

I told my boss at 10 weeks. I didn’t go into detail about whether or not I’ll be coming back to work after, etc. Not ready to go into all of that at this point.

@the_newlymintedmrs-s17:  at 13 weeks…I’m a teacher and wasn’t really sick, so I waited a little while.

I am a teacher and was feeling awful so ended up telling my principal at 6 weeks so I didn’t look like a lazy bum haha. Good thing I did because she told me a day later that there was a case of slap cheek in the school which is highly dangerous if you get it in early pregnancy. 1/3 of a chance of miscarriage or major birth defects. Thank God I tested immune a few weeks later.

I told on my first day! I was temp and had to start my day after my first ultrasound. I would have been 12 weeks already. When everything looked good in the morniing I went in. They did lunch meetings once a month where everyone said something good and something bad about their personal or work life from the last month that they wanted to share.

Told mine at 14 weeks. I had just gotten hired the week before. 🙂 my boss did mention being slightly annoyed with another employee who didn’t spill until after 5 months. you just have to gauge your work environment, mine is very close knit, people can tend to feel slighted if you are seen as secretive. If you work in a place where you are cwrtain no one would care unless it some to plan coverage for your leave then tell them when you start showing only so your not the elephant in the room.

@the_newlymintedmrs-s17:  I’m a teacher and told at 6 weeks after I turned into a emotional crying basket case (unlike me) in front of my principal. I was having very light spotting and would miss our training the next afternoon due to the DR appointment. She was very sweet about it and asked the day I got back from the appointment how things were.

I had had a m/c at 5 weeks, a month and a half before this, and hadn’t told anyone in that pregnancy except one person. Another lady figured it out and told my team, then I had to tell them I had been pregnant wasn’t any longer. So… I’ve told my team about this one so they know why I’m a hormonal and out with appointments.

I told at 12.5 weeks. I wanted to wait longer but I was also anxious to get a deposit in at daycare and needed to finalize my maternity leave with work. Plus I knew there were several things coming up in the next few weeks that would try to be scheduled around my due date so I sort of needed to out myself before that so I could explain why I was unavailable.

I’m around 5/6 weeks and I told my boss on Monday. It was influenced by a number of outside circumstances but was the right decision at the time. She was amazing and gave me a huge hug. It was the right choice for me telling her when I did.
