I honestly don’t ever think about my ring any more BUT the “wow, I can’t believe it!” factor wore off a couple of months in

My centre stone is 2.6 and my side stones are an additional 1.4. With 4 ct between the 3 stones, it should look massive but it just looks like it belongs there. Finger coverage goes side to side… My ring size is 8.25 which may do it. I can’t imagine ever feeling as though it’s too small…

meanttobee2018 :  I feel the same way. My center is just over 3cts (on a size 3 3/4 finger) and I don’t think it looks huge – it seems normal to me, just like it was always meant to be there.

I knew I would most likely not be upgrading or changing my ring (unless I can get a 2 carat cultured blue diamond with lavender tones someday, which is highly unlikely) so when my sweetie had the opportunity to get an almost 3 carat sapphire in the color I really wanted, I went for it. It faces up like a 2 carat and I feel as though it’s in the sweet spot for me- it still has some daintiness to it (at least in my eyes) and it’s large enough to be visible from a distance (like when I see myself in the mirror without my glasses!)

I have learned, from being on the Bee, that I love love LOVE looking at large rings (small ones, too, for that matter, I love hands and how people adorn them) but I wouldn’t want to wear a larger ring every day. I tend to take rings off and set them down somewhere if I can feel them and I wouldn’t want to be doing that with an engagement ring or wedding set.

My stand in ering is just a little larger than the one I wear daily and it feels too big for me. I call it Bling!Blam!Pow!

No shrinkage issues here! My rock is 0.56 carats, just the size I wanted and it doent seem smaller than it did when he first proposed.. I’ve had it for almost a year and a half. 😊

Mine has always felt small to me, because the stone is much smaller than my H and I agreed upon — my grandmother then decided to gift us her stone, so we went with that for sentimental reasons. I still love it because it’s mine and I love the setting, but it will never look large to me. I won’t upgrade because of the sentimental value of the ring, but we may add some rings to stack with it at some point.

My center is .6 and it looks the same exact size as when I got it two years ago. I love my ring and it’s exactly what I wanted. Never thought it was big though, so maybe that’s why I haven’t experienced “shrinkage”.

farmfreshjoy :  Have you considered using it as a side stone in a 3-stone setting? I know the 3-stone look isn’t for everyone, but that’s what I ended up doing with a sentimental-yet-small stone.

FullSizeRender-1_2 MrsFuzzyFace :  No shrinkage here.  In fact I think it looks bigger on some days when I catch it at angles, in the car or just in good lighting.  I’m a nerd though.  I clean it daily (work in medical so germs) and stare at it often.  (And I’ve been married 18 yrs now!)

brereuther :  Before we’d found out that we’d be receiving this diamond, we’d chosen the setting. It was the only one that felt “right” to H and me. I think we’re both on the same page about not having an upgrade or change, but this is something to consider for sure. Thank you for the suggestion!

Mine has always felt “just right.” I love how “deep” my diamond is. I could have had a bigger looking yet flatter diamond for the same price, but I love the quality and complexity of this cut. Size was not my first priority. But I do think the size is perfect for me. I believe it is .5 carat? Or perhaps over? Who knows. My husband doesn’t remember either lol

Shrinkage happens for me at different points. I have a 1ct. on a 5.5 finger. Sometimes when my hand swells up it makes my band look pinched and diamond small. Other times it’s when I see a bigger diamond on someone else.

I just remind myself that it’s the beautiful diamond my finace spent months picking out and it’s a representation of our love and commitment and I’m able to talk myself of the materialistic ledge.

Also I feel like my diamond looks bigger in the mirror and in photos than in person. Who knows.
