Unfortunately for me, I’m still throwing up and/or feeling nauseous occasionally (about two to three times a week…sometimes more) and I’m at nearly 21 weeks. Granted, it has slowed down a lot from when I first got morning sickness so I am grateful for that! I’m hoping it will end soon but if it doesn’t, I’ll just deal with it, I guess!

From what I hear from most people, it usually subsides around the second trimester so hopefully you’ll start feeling better soon!

It never completely went away, but with both my pregnancies 15/16 weeks was the very worst.  Have you talked to your doctor about what you can do to help?

Nausea didn’t set in for me until about 8 weeks. It was mostly over by 13 weeks, but I still had bouts until week 16. I got off easy though. I only threw up a handful of times, but did feel sick much of the time. Chewing gum and sucking on hard candies really helped me.

Just a heads up that the nausea can come back in the third trimester. It hasn’t been as bad for me, but when my baby’s pushing on my stomach I feel like I’m going to be sick… it hasn’t happened yet though!

I never threw up, but I had SERIOUS nausea and aversion to all food until about 13 weeks.

Unfortunately, mine lasted a long time and now is back. It went away around 25 weeks or so and just came back about two weeks ago (I’m 36 w 3 d now) so I’m dealing with it again, although not nearly as bad as the 1st and 2nd tri’s. Everyone is different so there is no way to know how it will be for you! Sorry you are feeling so miserable. I can totally relate!!

@travellingfool:  Can you start with a half dose of Zofran and see if that helps you?  Also, you might look into natural/herbal remedies like ginger and peppermint or accupressure wristbands.

At my worst I was puking 5+ times a day, so I know how much it sucks for you.  🙁  There are a lot of different things you can try to manage your sickness with, though, if you want some suggestions.

@travellingfool:  I finally started taking my Zofran. I just couldn’t go through a full day and function at all! I am usually really sensitive to medicine also, so I wanted to hold out on taking it as long as possible. I have been taking it (the generic oral kind that melts away) and it didn’t make me anymore drowsy than normal pregnancy does. The only thing that happened was constipation, which you get because of pregnancy anyway. I just drink prune juice and it helps a lot. I am still taking it, but only once a day (morning) now. I am now almost 15 weeks.

    After LO came out…

I was sick starting at about 8 weeks, and lasting all the way through the delivery. I didn’t throw up every day, but was pretty constantly nauseous (I think I had a 2-3 week reprive somewhere around 24 weeks) and had no appetite (didn’t come back until after he was born).

I found hard Starlite peppermint candies helped control it a lot.

I had horrible all-day morning sickness – meaning all I was able to do was lie on the couch all day with a bucket beside me for when i puked which was quite often! it lasted til 17 weeks and still had nausea until 18 weeks. I’m 38 weeks tomorrow and luckily I haven’t had it since, but have had 2-3 moments of feeling like throwing up but luckily it passed!
