I’m almost 19 weeks and today I’m sitting at my desk when I get a nose bleed. Unfortunately, it is my employer’s protocol that nose bleeds require a medical exam due to blood born pathogens. I’m just wondering how frequently you had them and when they started and stopped.

I had them, but I don’t remember exactly when. I know that they at least started before I announced my pregnancy @ 4 months.
They seemed to go along with my other symptoms, like I don’t think I had any in the later part of my 2nd tri (when MS took a break, too) but they came back (but less frequently) in the 3rd tri.
I know it is normal for pregnancy, but I also felt like they were more frequent when I had stress. Is that the same for you? I was paranoid and checked my blood pressure pretty often, but I think that was also just bc my sister had bad pre-e.

I started getting them at maybe 15 weeks? And I just had one the night before last and I am in my 25th week now. They have tapered off some- down to like once a week rather than every day when they were at their worst. OBGYN was not concerned about them. Super annoying.

Oh lord, if I was at your workplace I’d be living in the medical examiner’s office! Mine started in the first trimester, and I’m still getting them in the third. Some days I luck out and don’t get any, but most of the time I have at least 1, and sometimes 3-4. Not all of them are the horrible gushing variety, just a little blood when I blow my nose. It’s just one of those symptoms that hit me harder than the others. Hope you don’t have to worry about them too much!

@sand dollar: I’m worried this is just the start of 5 more months stuck in the ME’s office 🙁 I hope my boss understands and doesn’t get too upset.

I never had nosebleeds but I went thru about 3 mos that every time I blew my nose there was blood (it was mostly during the 2nd-trimester).
