He knew right at the end of our first date (which wasn’t even a date). Tristan and I had spent the last 12 days communicating through IMs and texts, so he offered to take me out for my birthday dinner. It was suppose to be just dinner, but since we had so much fun, we went to the movies too. On our way to the theater, he offered to come wash and wax my car the next morning (he loves washing cars). We stayed up until 5 am talking on the phone that night after our date where he offered to spend every friday night for the next 10-20 years with me. =) When we finally got off the phone, I texted my bff and told her I had met the guy I was going to marry. Two days later, he introduced me to his god daughter, which I later found out was a test to see if his 3 year old goddaughter would like me. He also wanted to see how I am around kids, since his niece and goddaughter mean the world to him. Fortunately for him, I’ve always been fantastic with kids. =)

I had an idea but I wasn’t actually sure, so I asked my bf. He said “When you broke up with me because I broke my promise of proposing to you by the time you graduated (grad school). I came crawling back because I knew I lost what I wanted for the rest of my life.” [After 6.5 years, I had a realization that I wasn’t getting any younger, and I was ready to move on to the next part of my life. He promised me a proposal by the time I graduated grad school, and when that time came and went without a proposal, I told him I was moving on.] Similar to @lalalalinzii:, it took him losing me for him to realize what he wanted.
@lalalalinzii: I got fed up with the idea that it might not be going anywhere. He came crawling back. I think it took him potentially losing me to figure it out!

My husband said that from the moment he first saw me, he knew that I was the one for him. “Love at first sight,” he says. He applied for a position where I worked in order to get to know me, so the romantic in me likes to believe that it’s true. 🙂

I’m not sure exactly when he realised it…. but he told me he loved me after 5 months, and after 10 months of dating he told me I’m the love of his life. So he realised it at some point in between.

hmm well, we dated for 2 1/2 years, broke up for a year, then got back together… we were back together for 2 days and told me he KNEW he wanted to marry me 🙂 4 months later we were engaged!

We were friends first. He knew he wanted to be more than friends right away, but didn’t say anything because I was dating someone else. Once he and I actually started dating, he knew about two weeks into it.

When we decided to move in together. It didn’t make much sense to either of us to live together unless we were for sure heading towards marriage eventually.

He said “I love you” first, about a month and a half in. I was hesitant and waited a little while longer, but we got engaged at four months, so we knew pretty quick!

My Fiance told me it was within a couple weeks of dating (we had one of those crazy, 3 day long “first dates.” I knew probably about 3 weeks to a month in. 🙂
