I’m almost 28weeks and have not had stretch marks yet and I hope it stays that way! I don’t do anything except put unscented lotion on my belly in the morning and sometimes at night if I remember. Just wondering what your experiences have been. Thanks bees!

Mine showed up at 38 weeks, but they aren’t bad. not very many, and all on my lower belly.

I’m 15.5 weeks and I have stretch marks all over my breasts. I went from a size A to a C in a matter of weeks. And they’re still growing. It’s gross and painful. I’m not looking forward to the belly stretch marks.

I wanted to start a thread like this but I’m not even TTC yet, so I’m really interested in these responses!

I’m not TTC yet, but these answers make me feel a lot better.
Do you ladies use cocoa butter or any kind of cream to help, or have you just let your skin be?

I haven’t been pregnant, but my boyfriend’s sister didn’t get stretch marks until she was 36 weeks. She was in Boston, and ran across the street. The next day she had stretchmarks from the bottom of her ribs to her bikini line. She thinks running across the street must have caused it and really regrets not wearing her bellyband every day. She was a healthy weight before the pregnancy, and gained a normal amount.
SO’s other sister also had a baby. She gained about 30 lbs, and was about 120 lbs before getting pregnant, at around 5′ 4″. Her stretchmarks started at around 4 or 5 months. She has huge stretchmarks all over her lower back, stomach, breasts, above her knees, and on her calves. Her baby is 13 months, so hopefully they will fade more. They were bright purple, and are pink by now.

My doctor told me that you will most likely get them if your mom/sister etc. have them. However, there are exceptions because my mom and sister were bathed in stretch marks.
I had two children back to back (now 3 and 4 years old) and I have absolutely none and I used nothing. Personally, I think how fit you are before your pregnancy and your belly not having extreme size changes quickly is a better indicator.

My SIL got them between 26 and 27 weeks and they’re long and dark purple.
@Mrs Sarah McK: That’s great yours are not that bad!
@Peony007: I hadn’t even thought of stretch marks in other places besides the tummy! I have them on my butt from puberty…
PurpleUnicorn: Fingers crossed for you!
@Mrs_Amanda: Good luck when TTC!
@Torrid: I just use unscented Cetaphil lotion.
@bunnyharriet: Thanks for sharing!

I didn’t get any with my first, but I did with my second. I honestly don’t know when they showed up! I only got a few on the underside of my belly, and I didn’t see them until after my son was born.

I’m 27 weeks today and I don’t have any yet. I’m not worried about it. If I get them, I get them. No big deal. There’s nothing I can do about it after all.
PS, ladies, there is nothing you can do about stretch marks either.

@bunnyharriet: This is good to know. I am going to be moving very slowly while holding my belly towards the end of this pregnancy!

I was very smug at around 37 or 38 weeks of pregnancy that I hadn’t gotten any and then overnight they appeared! I gained 50lbs with both (from 130 to 180) and I am 127 now but with a saggy stretch marked c-section scarred belly and breasts. And I would do it all again in heart beat!
