I got ’em at around the start of the 3rd trimester (from memory).
I started out with just one, then four of its friends turned up, then I had about fourteen and now I’m covered in them (stretchmark party at my bump!)
FWIW I’m now overdue and have gained less than twenty pounds and lotioned it up everyday and still got them.
And to scare you all, here’s a side view of my bump at forty weeks!

booo…no option for before 20w?!! I started getting them at 13 weeks. I was still down 2-3 pounds and my belly just decided to start popping out! I haven’t had many more appear since then (i’m 20w this Friday), but I can tell every time the baby grows, because I start itching, I pop a little more, and then a new one or two will appear—despite using all the lotions and oil potions out there.
Even now I’ve only gained 4-5 pounds. It’s genetics and my body type. I was upset that I had them (especially so early), but then I saw this photo and poem (link below) and now I’m completely okay with them. I even want to get a photo taken like this one later on in the pregnancy and get it printed. It think it’s important to remember how amazing this process is!

We’re in the same boat!
I have stretch marks from like….12 years ago. I somehow got them from an appendectomy I had in college, lol.
I’m 22 weeks pregnant now and have no new ones, YET! I know they’re coming though.

I’m 27 weeks and I haven’t had any show up yet – Fingers crossed they stay away!

I’m not even pregnant and I have them on my breasts, around my hips, inner thighs, etc. My skin has zero elasticity- my mother had 4 kids and has like 2 stretch marks. I know I’ll be covered when I have kids one day. Oh well!

I made it 41 weeks with not a mark, yay! I also didn’t gain a lot of weight (20-25 lbs) so that probably was a big reason why. I drank a ton of water too. The baby was a good size too, 7lb 6 oz. I tried coco butter at around 30 wks and broke out in a horrible rash.

I actually had a stretch mark appear on my lower belly at around 15-16 weeks if I’m recalling it correctly so I voted 20-24 weeks on the poll. It’s only one and isn’t really bad as of yet. We’ll see if any more appear between now and the end of the pregnancy! Either way, I’m trying not to worry too much since (from what I’ve been told) if they are going to happen, they will just happen.

Added a “Less than 20w” option 🙂
Great feedback! Just goes to show, you just never really know! I agree with PP who’ve said there isn’t anything you can do to prevent them. I probably will and that’s fine…interestingly, I don’t remember the ones I got on my hips when I was like 12 or 13 ever being red/purple. Maybe I was just too young/naive to pay attention!

Thanks for the photo! You’re a brave woman 🙂 I’d be interested to see what they look like after the baby! I heard they fade and turn more of a silvery color. Best wishes on your upcoming delivery!
