Maybe add a “never got them” category?  I know a few women who never got them.  Or maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part…

When I was pregnant with my son, I made it to month 8 until I noticed stretch marks. They are thin and skin colored and only below my belly button, so not too bad. I used Palmer’s cocoa butter lotion every day but I think some people are just prone to get them regardless. :/

I noticed my first stretch mark at 20 weeks under my bellybutton. I watched it grow along with my belly for a couple of weeks then all of a sudden I had heaps of little stretch marks popping up all over my tummy.

My entire tummy (from about 2 inches under my boobs) is completely covered in stretch marks. I used palmers coca butter everyday religiously and it din’t help at all 🙁

I’m one of the unlucky ones, I’ve never seen anyone else with a tummy like mine.

I got mine at about 5.5 months, but I think it was specifically because I got pelvic symphisis disorder suddenly so my hips widened very very quickly. Mine are very low, they’ll be covered almost entirely by a bikini and they showed up after my foot slipped out of a sandal while walking one day and I felt a pull in the muscles between my inner thigh and my groin area. My stretch marks showed up within a few days of that happening, which makes sense since essentially the ligaments holding everything together down there got stretched out and won’t go back to normal until I’m not pregnant anymore.

I don’t have any on my belly, even though I popped almost overnight in month 4 and am carrying really forward and high.

I think if that pelvic stretching hadn’t happened I might not have gotten them – my mom didn’t and it is lagely genetic if you are prone to them or not.

2nd trimester. Boobs first and then they started low on my belly. No amount of lotion or oil or anything helped. I’m a roadmap.

interesting post. I have heard many things about stretch marks and that whether you moisturise or not if your skin does not have enough natural elasticity you will get them regardless. I have decided not to moisurise my belly as i have extremely sensitive skin even to all natural or sensitive lotions. If i get them, i get them.

I have stretchmarks on the inside of my thighs from where i lost a lot of weight as a teenager through illness and had to gain it again quickly so im prety sure i will get them during pregnancy. im not going to fight it.

I’m not PG yet but friends of mine swear by bio oil to prevent stretch marks so I thought I’d throw that out here.
