I remember I used to say that I could be a preggy belly model since I had zero stretchmarks but in the last few weeks, they snuck up on me. They first showed up at the bottom of my belly. I rubbed on everything too and they still came.  I looked like a zebra.

My tummy looked sad after baby was born too. My bellybutton looked as if it was frowning.

I’m curious to know the answer as well. I am sure I am prone to getting them. I already have them from losing and gaining weight too rapidly in my life. However, my mom never had stretch marks so perhaps I won’t get any new ones. In any case, I am already lotioning every night and morning, drinking a lot of water, and eating healthy. Hopefully that will help me out.

I was going to ask this question, too!

I’m at 25 weeks and nothing yet. I’m using Tummy Honey Butter morning and night. I’m really hoping to escape without stretchmarks. I have stretchmarks on my boobs from a growth spurt… they faded, but never went away.

Mine showed up near the end as well.  I’m 4 months pp and they have definitely faded a lot, but they are still there (but not red or purple anymore, mostly white and some pinkish).

@bunnymama:  I think it comes down to genetics. I did not use any lotions or creams at all during my pregnancy. I did a drink a ton of water bc I had an issue w/dehydration in first tri so I was super crazy about my water intake after that. I was also small to start out with and stretched a lot so I’m surprised I didn’t get any! I’m 5 feet tall and a size 2, I gained 35 pounds and not a single stretch mark. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am happy to report that at 3.5 months PP I have lost 30 pounds, the last 5 are giving me a little trouble though. Good luck and good luck in your pregnancy, October will be here before you know it!!

Mine have just shown up in the last few weeks (I’m nearly 36 weeks now), and it’s so sad to watch! With twins, though, I wasn’t really expecting to escape them. ๐Ÿ™ Just holding my breath and waiting to see how bad the damage is by my induction date in 2 weeks. Feels like it’s getting worse by the day at the moment, probably because the last few weeks are when babies do the most growing.

Despite every dermatologist stating that topicals/lotions/ointments don’t work, I’ve spent a TON of money on BioOil my whole pregnancy (I go through a $20 bottle every two weeks). Between week 30-33, I’ve had about 10 stretch marks show up. Also not entirely sure that genetics helps all that much, either (at least not in my case). My mom had five children with no stretch marks. I’m just the lucky one, I suppose. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sad to say, I didn’t get any stretch marks…until the baby was out! Or at least, I couldn’t see them until then. But they are gone now (8 months PP).

I didn’t think I would get any because I was sure genetics played a factor and my mom didn’t get any (with any of her 4 kids).  I was fine until about 2 weeks ago, when I was 36 weeks then I started getting them on my “love-handle” area.  Now, I’m 38 weeks and I can see a few forming on my lower belly.  It’s really bumming me out because I was sure I had escaped them.  I used creams/lotions throughout my whole pregnancy too and those obviously didn’t work. I guess sometimes you just get them  ๐Ÿ™

I don’t have any yet (33 weeks) but my sister said pretty much the same thing as everyone else — “don’t get too comfortable. Mine didn’t show up until weeks 37-39.” Just when she thought she was in the clear! She also agreed that they faded and went away quickly, though.

Never got any on my tummy, but got some small ones on the “love handle” area at around 26ish weeks? Can’t really remember because they didn’t really look like stretch marks. They were really short and in no real pattern, kinda more like dots/spots. Thought I had some sort of pregnancy related skin discoloration. Asked my doctor what it was and she said stretch marks. Booo. They’re not that bad, but at 8months pp, they’re still there. They’ve faded a bit, but still visible for sure.

I started getting them around 20 weeks and I wasn’t even that big yet. I’m just extremely prone to them I guess =
