Ok bees, I’m still not certain iv found a dress I’m happy to part with a lot of money for. I mean if the dress that I keep going to try on, keep posting about, keep looking at is THE DRESS why haven’t I parted with the cash and put a payment down?? (See other posts! THOUGHT I found the dress, but don’t think so now)
I’m feeling like I might just end up ordering Maggies April because iv lost heart and can’t be bothered to look anymore, but I really want to walk into a shop, try on a dress, squeal cry or jump up and down and say THIS IS BLOODY IT!!! I’m buying it right NOW!
I’m sure this moment is waiting? Or am I going to try on every single wedding dress in my county! I mean when do u say enough Is enough? When will I find THE DRESS?
Ok wedding is April next year, how long do I have??? I don’t want to rush and buy one if I do have some time, but also if I go over time wise I don’t want the problem of only being able to buy off the rack!
Iv made an appointment in yet another shop tomorrow and I’m going alone 🙁 I feel like I’m annoying everyone with my search, even u bees 🙁 I’m very disheartened!
Sorry for the long post bees

@Dawn1234: You’ll have to ask the salon you intend to order it from that question.

A dress takes 6-8 months to come in, so you have time. Don’t feel like you have to rush if you don’t want to purchase now and feel like there is something else out there. Dress regret is the worst!

@Dawn1234: It depends on where you get your dress/who is making it, but my dress is taking 4-6 months to be made. I ordered it at the beginning of February, it should be here in July, and we’re getting married in November. That will give enough time for any alterations too. You’ll know when you find THE DRESS. 🙂 Have you looked online for particular styles that you like? Then you can take the photos in to the shops and show them what you like. That’s what I did. 🙂

@erinbacher: ooh 4-6 months that’s not too bad! 🙂 out of all the dresses iv tried on I do have a style I love, and all the bits and pieces I want. Just not had the moment when I know it’s the one. The April dress is nice in some ways but it is missing other things I want, it just didn’t feel right :-/
im hoping I will put on a dress and just KNOW! I’m just worried that isn’t going to happen for me and I’m just going to settle. Humph!

@PacificMrs: thank you, I have already had the dreaded dress regret to add a bit more to the drama! I think that’s half the reason I’m petrified to make a decision! I’m currently trying to sell my first one, luckily it was off the rail and not too expensive :-/

@Dawn1234: You’ll find it. 🙂 Just relax and have a little faith in yourself. If your not 100% about a dress, or something with it that can easily be altered, then I wouldn’t get it. You’ll have up having the worst dress regret. I found photos online of dresses that I thought would be the dress, but when I went to try them on I despised them. I have a two year engagement, figured I had plenty of time, and used a year of it to pin my favorite things on Pinterest. It really helped, and gave me a nice collection from dresses, to shoes, and any other wedding item. 🙂 Also really helped me narrow down what I wanted.

More important than the shop you’re ordering from is the actual manufacturer. I’d call or email Maggie Sottero and find out how long it takes after ordering the April dress. Specific dressesd may take longer or shorter, and they also may give you a heads up if it could possibly be discontinued.
All that being said, 8 months out should be pretty safe.
