Not because I am lazy and not wanting to get them done, but our wedding is August 25/26 and I am wondering when I HAVE to get invitations out by. Nate comes home at the end of April and I don’t really want to decide on a location without him. Luckily places don’t fill up to fast in our small town so I am not worried about places being overbooked or anything. But I feel akward sending out invitations without a place and a map.
Is it okay to send out invites to an August wedding in May? June!?

I didn’t send out invitations until the first week of December for our wedding at the end of January. It worked out perfectly well.
I would send your invitations out sometime in mid-June.

I think anytime between the end of May and mid-June would be fine.

Oh good. Mid June sounds do able. I had a brilliant Idea come to me a few days ago. Since our wedding is off the road system a bit I want to have topo maps of the area printed on handkercheifs or bandanas, and embroider a heart over the ceremony location. Im thinking that way guests have a map, a bandana for hiking through dust in august, and a favor. I could get the date and our names or something cute printed on there too. Looks like I am going to have to find a printers with a fast turnaround.

8 weeks before the event.

I’m sending mine around mid-May. 75% of guest are from out of town, and we did not send Save-The-Date Cards, so I’d like the invites to go out earlier.

I’ll be sending mine out mid june or the 1st week of July. Most of the ones invited are from the same town.

Early to mid July at the latest. The rule is 6-8 weeks before. I did 8 because I didn’t sent out Save-The-Date Cards.

If your wedding is local, I don’t see why 8 weeks wouldn’t be enough time. Ours is semi destination, so we just mailed them this week!

I’d say about 8 weeks. Maye you could get away with 6 if you sent out save-the-dates.

We didn’t do Save-The-Date Cards, so we will be sending out invites end of May/beginning of June for an August 1st RSVP deadline for an August 25th wedding. Though I did tell OOS guests about the wedding already so they could start getting travel and time off figured out.

I was going to be sending mine out End of April May, is that too early? I live in Ireland and have family coming from Canada and maybe New Zealand. I did send out STD’s but not much response from them and did put an event invite to realitives on Facebook.

I think custom is the FIRST possible paper invite is supposed to go out three months prior. If you have ample save the date info, though, I think you could go as close as you wanted to as long as you have the city staying the same. 🙂
Edit: I didn’t even bother doing actual invites because my electronic save the dates linked to my wedding website so people just started commenting and RSVPing there. Within 2 weeks, we were at max capacity. I highly encourage the use of a wedding invite!
