My wedding is in early May. When do they need to order their dress if they pick a bridal dress? Some are buying regular dresses since it a summer beach wedding. I just don’t know how long it takes to get them.

I would have your girls order them ASAP! I was in a wedding last year and we ordered our dresses mid-January for a mid-June wedding, I got my dress in the beginning of May. I actually just ordered my girls’ dresses through netbride.com and the expected ship date is May 3rd. Unfortunately, they might have to pay rush charges now just to insure the dresses get here in time; however I would have them verify with the shop they are ordering the dresses through as to what their standard delivery time is. Dresses tend to take months though.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Most bridal stores suggest that bridesmaids, MOB, MOG and brides order their dresses 6-8 months prior to the wedding. But someplace like Davids Bridal would probably be faster. Best Wishes!

I’m a bridesmaid in an early May 2010 wedding & we ordered our dresses last November like good little early birds. BUT the bride just found out our dresses won’t be in until April, which only gives us a month to alter, make sure they look OK, etc.
Best of luck!! Although some bridal stores prefer to have dress orders in 6+ months in advance, a lot of them know how to work with a tighter schedule. It’s funny how fast things go in certain cases, and how slow in the rest!

Most bridesmaids dresses need 4 months “lead time” … so I would think you would need to order them as soon as humanly possible, even then for some lines you may need to pay a rush feee to get them in time for alterations!

I would order very soon. I ordered mine 3 days ago, and they’re guaranteed to be here May 12

I just ordered my bridesmaid dresses yesterday. They are expected to come in Mid-April. If your wedding is May 6th, you would need to order NOW, or else you might have to pay RUSH fees…sometimes as high as 80 bucks.

I would order ASAP. The norm I believe for Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses is 3-4 months out.
That is what was told to me by my bridal salon.

Ask the store you are buying from….they’ll give you an exact guaranteed by date. It really depends where you are getting it from and if it is a “bridesmaid” dress. A lot of stores say 4 months or more but most times they come in early. I didn’t risk it and ordered 5 months out to leave time for alterations!
