Hey bees,
I was just reading that some ladies are already going for their alterations and their wedding isn’t until the end of 2016! My wedding is the first weekend in July. When should I go get mine done?
Hey bees,
I was just reading that some ladies are already going for their alterations and their wedding isn’t until the end of 2016! My wedding is the first weekend in July. When should I go get mine done?
Alterations typically start around the 2 month out mark.
My wedding is May 28, 2016. My dress comes in March. The first fitting is March 15, second will be determined at the first fitting. So I would start the fittings/alterations in May if I were you 🙂
My wedding is April 3rd. My dress came in several months ago. I just brought it two weeks ago to my seamstress to start the alteration process. Next fitting is the end of February. Final fitting is end of March.
My dress for my late June wedding doesn’t come in until mid April so I plan to start alterations as soon as its in – so two months out for me.
i had an october wedding, my dress came in in july, i think. i started alterations in end of july/beginning of august.
My wedding is in September and I plan to do my first fitting at the end of July, and my last one only two or three weeks before the wedding. The woman doing my alterations is a retired family friend, and not a career seamstress, so I don’t have to worry as much about her workload.
My wedding is in early April and my dress actually just arrived 4 weeks early so I expect that my alterations will be starting next week (just made the appointment).
my shop didn’t start alterations until 2 months before.
when i went to try on my dress for the first time (6 months before), they went ahead and pinned some areas to wear they needed to be, but they didn’t actually get started on anything until 2 months before. i didn’t need a ton of alterations- just shortening, adding cups, a hoop, and a bustle.
Thanks ladies. My goal is to drop 10-15 pounds and I want to be sure I have the time 🙂
